I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • A fantastic location.
    uk | Apr 13, 2018 | Trip type: Couples

Firstly it should be pointed out that there are two Nuo hotels.
This one is the old Raffles hotel.
The other is apparently a higher rating. We booked for three nights prior to joining a cruise.
    First impressions were extremely positive.
The hotel’s facade is breathtaking, and the interior is stunning.
Rooms are quite luxurious, and the swimming pool is large.
We opted to include breakfast, as we were booked for tours and wanted to avoid any hassle.
The variety and quality of food available was superb.
The hotel is located a short walk from Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City.
A stroll away, behind the hotel is a huge shopping and restaurant area which you can walk along and watch locals or join in ballroom dancing in the grounds of a church , or attempt
    Traditional dances.
The underground is just a brief walk away.

  • Lovely - But No Air-Conditioning
Sydney, Australia | Apr 9, 2018 | Trip type: Family

We have just returned from a week at the Nuo following a week in Shanghai. On the whole we enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel but there were a few issues. I will summarise the good and the bad and hope this will be of assistance to people looking to come to Beijing for the first time; as I found it tricky to work out where to stay in this vast city.

    The Good:
    1) The hotel buffet breakfast is absolutely incredible - definitely make sure you incorporate this into your booking. A beautiful spread and huge range of Western and Asian foods in a lovely setting
    2) The hotel has lots of colonial character which if you like that you will enjoy. The rooms are pretty, beds are comfortable; towels are super fluffy and the room make up service we found to be exceptionally good and the cleaners were lovely friendly courteous people.
    3) Head concierge a very helpful, professional chap and the doormen also friendly and helpful.
    4) Booked a car to the airport through the concierge for 300 yuan; it was comfortable and 100x better than a taxi. Also booked a driver through him for the day to take us to The Great Wall; this was an excellent service and one I highly recommend (I'm not a fan of tour groups).

    The Bad:
    1) No A/C in the rooms and the windows don't open. The room was about 15 degrees celsius hotter than it was outside; we were sweating and could not sleep. Got moved to a room with a window that did open which did help a lot but took a night to cool down so we lost a night's sleep - that being said it was snowing when we were there; had it been hot weather; we would have been miserable. Plus the road noise with the window opening is so loud you couldn't sleep through it anyway even with ear plugs
    2) As the buffet breakfast was so incredible we assumed that same restaurant for dinner would be great. It was not; it was actually pretty bad. The food was very over priced and average at best. Nicoise salad had no dressing and wasn't a proper nicoise; bolognaise is the type you'd get for $5 in Aussie on a kids menu; club sandwich at AUD$35 was insanely expensive; dumplings were average and spring rolls were what you would expect.
    3) Laundry: OMG. Worked out to around $20 or something to have one t-shirt washed; needless to say we did not use the laundry service and sadly there were no alternatives in this hotel location
    4) The location is both good and bad. Chang-An Ave is a 10 lane highway (5 lanes each way) and there is road noise in the room even with the windows closed. Taxis were not interested in dropping you at this location because of the traffic congestion so we gave up on them and had to use the subway; of which there is a station close by. To get a taxi you had to pre-book ahead of time. This added a lot of complication onto getting around to the places we wanted to visit.

    In Summary:
If I go to Beijing again I am not sure that I would stay here; I'd probably opt for a known quantity like The Marriott and locate myself on not such a main road. We did like it though and the people who worked there were lovely. The A/C is a deal breaker for me; you have to be able to have that very basic requirement of a comfortable room temp in order to sleep so you can enjoy your days there and get as much out of them as you can without feeling exhausted.

  • Recent Hotel Visit
    Apr 9, 2018

I would give it 5 stars but it happened to be 78 Fahrenheit when we visited Beijing and there was no air in our hotel room and the windows didn't open. The public areas of the hotel were cool but both our rooms were very hot. The hotel did find us a fan but it didn't function properly and didn't really help. Otherwise, the hotel, breakfast, employees (concierge, executive lounge, front desk, maids and breakfast staff) were all excellent. The lobby was lovely and the rooms were very nice and very large.

  • Beijing
Lisbon, Portugal | Apr 5, 2018 | Trip type: Friends getaway

This hotel is very well located, close to the forbidden city, downtown of Beijing, metro station and a nice market where you can try all types of weird food.
The rooms are big and the bed comfortable. The breakfast has a lot of variety.
The staff is nice and helpful.
Would recommend this hotel to everyone

  • A flawless arrival in Beijing
    Holly S
Vancouver, Canada | Mar 30, 2018 | Trip type: Friends getaway

We flew from Vancouver to Beijing for a couple of nights before we moved on to Southeast Asia. We arranged an airport pickup through the hotel (inclusive of an airport butler!) and they sure delivered. There was a lady waiting for us when we got off the plane and then showed us where to go and brought us to a private car waiting for us when we cleared customs. Everything was efficient, the driver alerted the hotel when we were approaching and the hotel staff were waiting for us as we arrived. The service was truly professional & friendly. It was unexpectedly hot in Beijing when we arrived and the hotel temperature ran on the hot side (it is a classic older hotel and they couldn’t do much to remedy the heat situation). The food in the hotel was a bit pricey for what it was, but the location makes up for it. This hotel is located a short walk from Tiananmen Square & the Wangfujing shopping area.
