I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Great location, the rest borderline poor

Service was the biggest minus sign from my stay here. Concierges often didnt know what they were talking about, but pretended they did. One concierge told me I had to have a guide to go to the Forbidden city, which would cost 700 RMB, this was of course not true. But they are good for booking tables and tickets in Chinese if you know what you want. We had to pay 80 RMB for 4 slices of toast that cost probably 10 RMB in the store, because one of us was sick and the doctor said she needed it. In contrast to other hotels I have been, they didn't call

Visually, the room looked nice. Though, bathtub didn't turn off sometimes, so I had to turn off the water before it became to high, so that it wouldn't overflow the bathtub. Shower dripped for many hours after a shower. Door to the bathroom with the bathtub wouldn't close. Heating was on 15 degrees, and felt like 30 celsius degrees, and turning of the heating didn't help, so they had to bring a fan that didn't work in many of the sockets. There weren't a room service menu in our room even though it was supposed to. Phoning room service by speed dial didn't work. Pool looked old and was too cold for me to swim in. Fitness center looked very good. This hotel could need some touching up.

We feel like we paid for the location. Metro stop, mall and Forbidden city is very close to the hotel.

  • Great Location, Average Accommadation

Location is key to this hotel, With both Tiannemen Square and Wangfujing shopping area within easy walking distance. The staff are great. However the accommadation is adequate but old fashioned and in need of renovation. I cannot believe that this was once a Raffles Hotel. The breakfast buffet was very average. For the location this is a cheap hotel

  • Superb Sunday brunch

The Nuo hotel Sunday brunch was an amazing experience for me. The food spread was just fabuluos that ranged from Asian, middle eastern, Indian to european food. I liked the middle eastern segment most. However, the other foods were also very nice. Moreover, it included some really nice caviar. The staff were really friendly, and the ambience very good. Overall it was a very good experience

The crew in this hotel are very polite and the food in its restaurant was perfect. Reception is so helpful in case you need any kind of help like taking taxi or searching for an address.
You can go to Wangfujing by 5 min walking.

We chose this hotel because of the location - walking distance to forbidden palace, subway round the corner and next to Wangfujing. seriously convenient location especially if ur keen to travel around by subway. So 5 stars for location.

Otherwise... everything else is 4 Star, pretty good but not great. has the potential to be a top notch colonial style hotel (which I suspect it was when under Raffles), but I have the feeling that it’s a victim of cost cutting by its current Chinese management - a dried up water feature in the atrium, loose drain cover in the shower which u have to avoid stepping on lest u fall into the hole while showering, broken window latch in the room, aircon set at 15 degrees (lowest) and still sweating at night etc. u get my gist. Instead, attempts are made to cover up for these faults by displaying artwork and tea which can only be afforded by the neuvo-rich.

Having said that, the rooms are a good size with our deluxe room more like a suite, and also at a more competitive price than an equivalent international hotel. We did feel that we got what we paid for (in a good way). Would we stay here again - possibly, because of the location.
