I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Nice stay
    NamidA88
    Singapore | Aug 10, 2019 | Trip type: Family

Convienient location with easy access from the Wangfujing stn and airport. Just minutes walking distance to Wangfujing with many dining options and shopping.

Room was upgraded to a suite which was very nice. Room is outdated but we loved the ambiance, layout and decor of the room. Just Beijing itself. Spacious room with enough spaces for family stay.

The only problem we had is airconditioning. Room was too hot even in May with all natural light heating up the room. Breakfast is actually below expectation.

Overall, it was amazing stay and staffs were very attentive and it makes difference especially for a hotel in need of product upgrades.

    Dear NamidA88,

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel and for choosing Beijing Hotel NUO while in China's capital.
The culinary team under our new Director of F&B and Culinar have worked on enhancing the breakfast service and offerings for the past couple months and I am certain that you would satisfied with these changes. I apologize fot the opportunity you encountered with the air conditioning and will have to let the Director of Engineering look into it.
I was happy to read your satisfaction with our Ladies and Gentlemen's attentiveness. We have started renovation on our new wing and it will be done by next year. I hope you will be able to come back to be able to witness our new rooms and feel.
Thank you again for having stayed in our hotel and looking forward to welcome you when your travel takes you back in Beijing.
    Sincerely,

  • What a great hotel!
    irinka_ok
Warwickshire | Jul 18, 2019 | Trip type: Solo travel

I stayed at Beijing Hotel NUO for three nights and could not wish for a better experience. The hotel is simply excellent by all standards. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious; the toiletries in the bathroom are of excellent quality; the breakfast is one of the best I had staying at five stars hotels; the fitness room is very well equipped; the location is excellent ... the list can go on and on. But the greatest asset of this hotel is its staff - very polite, knowledgeable but also discreet. In particular, I would like to say a big thank you to Anais Liu (Guest Experience Manager). She made my stay at NUO the one to remember. She is a working mother of two as myself and her professionalism, attention to detail and perfect English are beyond praise. The hotel is lucky to have her. Thank you, Anais! I hope to stay in your hotel again before too long.

  • A sense of old grandeur at a perfect location
    PeterSGhent
    Ghent | Jun 24, 2019 | Trip type: Couples

Upon entering the hotel, you feel the old grandeur of the hotel. The lobby is airy and welcoming, with free cold tea all day. The check-in staff is efficient and friendly and speaks really good English. As most European flights into China arrive very early in the morning, your room is often not ready. In our case, we were pleasantly surprised to hear that our room was ready - it was around 8 am in the morning. The size of the rooms is clearly above average, dating back to the days that hotel rooms were real rooms and not pigeon holes. The dark wooden flooring adds to the colonial atmosphere. Maybe the room is a bit overdue, but the A/C works well (it was over 37° Celsius in Beijing) and the bed is large with a lot of inviting cushions. Two must haves for a good night - cool and space. The rooms are in fact small suites, with a low table, a writing desk (in the folder you can find some old postcard replicas) and a sofa. The room features all amenities such as a safe deposit and an ironing kit. The third must have in a hotel room: silence. The room has to be quiet. And this was one of the most quiet hotels we have stayed in - no noise from the corridors, lifts or the neighbour's shower. Because the room looked towards the back of the hotel, we did not have the nicest panoramic view, but - as said - the upside was that we did not get any noise from the large central boulevard.
The hotel team is very friendly and will do everything to assist you in your travel. The concierge is very knowledgable and can help you with eg. getting a local data sim card or arranging a private car to visit the great wall.
As with all property, it's mainly about location and the hotel does not disappoint, being at walking distance from the underground, shopping streets, hutongs, banks and the forbidden city. Being so close to the underground (less than 2 minutes) makes you very flexible to travel around Beijing for very little money.
I would recommend the breakfast in the hotel. The variety of choice and the quality of the food (both Asian and Western) is of a very high standard. One of my personal checkpoints is whether smoked salmon is offered - and yes, it is!

Minneapolis, Minnesota | Jun 24, 2019 | Trip type: Business

We stayed for 8 nights in this beautiful hotel. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff is first rate...warm, personable and efficient. The buffet breakfast was the best we've had in China during our five week stay. The location is very convenient to Wangfujing shopping street, Tiananmen square and the forbidden city. We would highly recommend this hotel.

  • Back Again - Great Again
    John C
Ottawa, Canada | Jun 11, 2019 | Trip type: Couples

This is the only place I ever want to stay in Beijing. I will go back again and again. We usually get a room on the fourth or fifth floor right in the centre over the front doors looking out at Chang'An Avenue. This is the place where Jeff Widener took the famous photo of the man standing in front of the tanks as they came down the street during the crushing of the Tianenmen protests in 1989 (but you will not learn that from the hotel!).
The rooms in the original historic building are beautiful and huge and well-serviced.
Staff service is great and timely and helpful. They make it a great hotel experience.
It is five minutes walk from Tiananmen Square.

Marketing N, 总经理 at Beijing Hotel NUO, responded to this review
