Questions & Answers

I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • FIVE STAR SURPRISE!
    United50K
    San Francisco | Oct 13, 2015

    Positives:
    1. Luxuriously ironed fresh linens and thick cushy rugs.
    2. Thick towels and super size bath sheets
    3. Nice ambient lighting easy to use with floor to ceiling windows for a spectacular view of the city.
    4. Plenty of electrical plugs for your devices
    5. Nice touches - instead of chocolates a beautiful box of intensely flavored dried apricots.
    6. Complimentary mini bar refreshments in refrigerator: 2 cokes, beer, juice, bottled water and cream for coffee/tea
    7. Bathrobes, hair dryer, electric tea kettle and selection of teas
    8. Sculptured Kohler toilet in separate enclosure and stand alone tub with blinds to the rest of the room, so you can watch tv through the glass, while soaking in bath salts
    9. Great concierge, Bryant was so helpful in advance by email,
contact info on the hotel's website.
    10. Great room service menu with wonderful intl. wine list from France, Italy, Australia and New Zealand
    11. Fabulous location, only 1 km from the Forbidden City. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby.
    12. Wonderful gym and indoor pool in the hotel.
    13. Happy Hour in the lobby, 2 drinks for the price of one starting at 5pm
    14. On the 15th floor it was very quiet for sleeping. It is well insulated and only during rush hour can you hear horns and traffic.
    15. Close to some great Peking Duck - 4 minute walk to #3 Beijing Restaurant called Siji Minfu. It is much better than Da Dong and half the price.
    16. Easy to get Uber or DDTaxi, but find a place for them to pull over (not easy).
    17. Breakfasts OMG! Not since I enjoyed Sunday brunch at the Santa Barbara Biltmore have I seen such an array. Croissants tres French; omelets to order with both Eastern and Western buffet items. Even the decaf coffee had crema from no doubt a Nespresso machine. Kudos to the chef!
    18. A shopping recommendation: best place to buy silk sheets or silk comforter and duvet is the Beijing YuanHou Silk Market, on Zhu Shi Kou East St. Expensive but they will give you a 10% discount and they can compress the pkg for easier travel packing. They won't cheat you or sell you polyester instead of silk, like some shops because they are government owned.
Negatives (reference more about Beijing than the hotel):
    1. Slow (but free) wify in room. Took 10 minutes to download one issue of the Economist (typical for this part of the world.)
    2. No one speaks English in the Lei Garden dim sum restaurant. I waited 30 minutes while they tried to figure out how to charge lunch to my room. When I walked in, I asked "Are you still serving lunch?" No one could understand me. This was not the case in the other 4 hotel restaurants.
    3. Unbearable heavy traffic. No fault of the hotel but took over an hour to/from PEK Airport.
    4. Air pollution is usually bad so bring an "N95" face mask from a hardware store. Fortunately skies were clear due to recent rain but things change quickly. U.S. Embassy strongly advises masks for protection even though the Chinese don't wear them.
Even with a few areas for improvement, I rated this hotel 5 stars because the advantages far outweighed the negatives and compared to other Beijing Hotels, this is my favorite! I would highly recommend it. If you found this review helpful please click "yes" and happy travels.

  • Well located and appointed hotel
    NWEnglandNWcouple
NW England | Oct 9, 2015 | Trip type: Couples

Well located and appointed hotel. The rooms are well appointed, albeit quite darkly furnished. Staff very helpful, and dining...breakfast and evening buffer...was very good although the national holiday meant the Italian restaurant wasnt open so we couldn't sample this. 40 minutes walk from forbidden city and convenient for metro. Happy to revisit

  • Good hotel...restaurant so so.

Shanghai | Oct 8, 2015 | Trip type: Friends getaway

Good hotel, good location, good room.
Real 5 stars, good management, friendly staff.
Only one restaurant was opened, the 2 others were closed. And the food really so so, same for breakfast.
Forget the steakhouse restaurant near the hotel called Morton, food are ok but overpriced.

  • Perfect business and pleasure hotel in Beijing
    brucebenj
Davao City, Philippines | Oct 6, 2015 | Trip type: Business

Pros: almost everyone employed here ( all staff ) knows how to speak English or can understand broken simple English.
Rooms are cozy, modern, and big sized.
Beds are ultra comfortable, sheets and pillows are comfy. Air temp. Is of good quality.
They have free drinks in the Refrigerator upon check in.
They also have decent international Tv channels which is a rarity in Beijing.
Good variety of Breakfast food. Can still improve on availability of chicken and fish ( Beijing is known for Pork dishes ).
Location: just a short 10minute walk away from Wangfujing st. Also, there's a subway station behind the hotel, very convenient! The building also houses Aston Martin and Ferrari is just a stone's throw away.
Cons: none that I can think of.

  • Nice hotel, great rooms, good location, language barrier was challenging
    Airbound13
Los Angeles, California | Oct 4, 2015 | Trip type: Business

Overall the Regent hotel was nice and I would stay there again. The rooms were great - comfortable beds, lots of space, nice bathrooms, city views. The staff was very nice but the language barrier was more challenging than I would expect at a hotel. Like much of Beijing everything was expensive - $100 house bottles of wine and overpriced food. The location was great, about a 15 minute walk to the forbidden city and minutes from shopping and restaurants.
Breakfast was huge but just OK. The Peking duck in their restaurant was the best I had while in China and I highly recommend dining in the hotel one night for that.
