I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Traditional Chinese Experience and Friendly Staff

Honolulu, Hawaii | Oct 14, 2015 | Trip type: Business

The hotel provides a beautiful traditional Chinese experience. The rooms were clean, serviced well each day and had complimentary tea. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic. The staff went above and beyond to assist us - posting letters for us, booking taxis, talking to people in Chinese over the phone to help make appointments. It is located in the heart of Beijing - close to shops, metro etc. The area provides a lovely mix of old and new and we felt very safe exploring.

  • Excellent Choice to Stay at the end of our Trip to China
Hampshire, UK | Oct 13, 2015 | Trip type: Couples

This lovely traditional hotel is a 5 min walk into a Hutong, it was nice to see somewhere traditional and we always felt safe walking down there no matter what time or day or night.
The only problem we had was with the taxi driver that dropped us off, the hotel kindly sent me an email to show the driver which explains he must drop us outside the hotel not at the end of the road. He dropped us at the end and indicated we needed to walk up. I tried to stick my ground and indicated for him to drive, he was having none of it. I could have called the hotel but I didn't. As I couldn't be bothered to argue with him, we paid, took our luggage and walked. It only took 5 mins but as we didn't know where we were or if we were in the right street and it was 10.30pm, it seemed longer. We had problems with most taxi drivers in China & I would advice you to avoid them at all costs. This is no reflection at all on the hotel. Just one of those things. The hotel was very easy to spot, its on the left hand side and has Hotel lit up in red. It was a welcome sight.
Check in was very easy, the guy was so apologetic about our taxi experience, its not a problem, not the hotels fault. He showed us to our room, explained how things worked, said we had booked the biggest room. It was lovely, thought we'd treat ourselves at the end of our trip.
The bar is lovely, drink prices reasonable. We ate in the bar one evening, I had a steak, it was so tender and lovely.
Originally we were to stay for 1 night but our overnight train from Xian wasn't available as a deluxe sleeper so decided to get the bullet train and spend 2 nights here, best decision we made. Having spent 1 night on an overnight sleeper it wasn't an experience I wanted to repeat. Blessing in disguise!! The bed in our room was so comfortable.
The staff are so helpful. We wanted to get a taxi to the zoo but she strongly advised we get the subway as it was quicker and easier. So pleased we did, its so easy to use. Nearest station is 10 min walk from the hotel. The lady pointed out a few areas we may find interesting which was very helpful. For £1.60 we travelled around on the subway all day. Id recommend you get a travel card and just top up if you need to.
We walked to Wanfujing St to experience the night food market. Luckily we had eaten before we left the hotel. It was interesting but so busy. It was about a half hour walk but so easy to find and felt completely safe.
On our last night the lady on reception asked if we needed a taxi for our departure, very helpful and she arranged for a taxi to take us to the airport. I was expecting to pay over 100 Yuan for the taxi and didn't have any smaller change, the ride only came to 89 and although I saw the driver pull out a wad of small notes to pay the toll he said he had no change. Just a tip to make sure you always have enough smaller notes handy!!
This was a lovely stay at the end of our hectic trip to China. The room was lovely and very traditional. staff were so helpful, going out of their way to help, food was great. Would definitely recommend.
The only slight negative was that the Wifi was slow or non existent. But I wasn't there to sit on the internet all day so not really a problem for us.
If you don't fancy the walk with your luggage if your driver drops you at the end of the road, call the hotel as they would definitely help you.

  • Pearl in the Hutong
    Federica G
Zurich, Switzerland | Oct 10, 2015 | Trip type: Couples

This hotel is really like a pearl in the Hutong. The area is not really touristic, many people live there and there are few local shops, like hairdressers, and restaurants.
The rooms are overlooking a really nice small court. The room furniture is traditional with a very special bed with red curtains. The room was very clean and with all what needed by the customer. I really appreciated even small things like finding a city map in the room or a very good jasmine tea provided.
The staff was really kind and helpful. The Chinese breakfast good.

  • Chinese delight
Melbourne, Australia | Oct 2, 2015 | Trip type: Couples

Our stay at double happiness exceeded our expectations. On the first day we were upgraded to the bridal suite which was just stunning. You knew you were in China with all the red in the room!!!! Staff were super friendly and the food was excellent so was the bar service and having outdoor sitting areas was a real bonus. It is located in an area that is authentic old world China but close to public transport and not far from main road. Breakfast was substantial and a fabulous variety of food. Reception spoke good English and very helpful. Would easily stay there again and highly recommend it.
