Questions & Answers

I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

Shinjuku, Japan | Feb 20, 2019 | Trip type: Business

Possibility my 6th time staying here whenever I am back in Beijing. Room is huge, clean and comfortable. Staff is attentive and helpful. Enjoyed the tropical pool located at the hotel basement level. You will definitely love it . Centrally located above the mall at Wangfujing. Walking distance to all the popular spot such as forbidden city, Tiannamen Square, food street with weird food around , etc.
Breakfast serving wide selection of food is incredibly awesome .

Hong Kong, China | Feb 13, 2019 | Trip type: Couples

Had a short chinese new year trip to Beijing. We booked a standard room and used the club award coupon from the hyatt membership which upgrades our room to club floor room.

Check in was very smooth, offered a large deluxe room on the club floor. The Club lounge is huge with two wings, one dining area and another one for sitting with sofa.

Cocktail hour and breakfast were good. Nice spread of food to choose from during cocktail hours. Fromsalad, soup to main and dessert. Its a full dinner service. Most dishes were western. Will be best if there are more local items to choose from.

Staffs in the Club lounge were friendly and attentive. The younger ones in particular - Gary and Eden.

In terms of location, it is also very convenient. Taxi ride from airport is around 120 - 130RMB. Its nezt to two major metro stations. There is a large shopping mall underneath the hotel which connects the hotel to Wangfujing shopping district.

The pool is big, but the changing room was a bit messy. Mainland chinese guests tends to leave towels here and there and mess up the area.

    Overall, a very good stay.

The hotel is just ok, it needs lots or renovation. The food is not that good but then again is not the Ritz! The only good thing is the connection to the Subway line without having to go outside if not for this in the winter I wouldn’t stay here.

GeraldUrsulet, Hotel Manager at Grand Hyatt Beijing, responded to this review

  • Great Club Lounge Within A Functional Hotel In A Competitive Hotel Market
    ChrisW9552
New York City, New York | Feb 7, 2019 | Trip type: Business

I booked a Grand Suite room during the first week of 2019 and had high expectations of the property in a competitive market like Beijing -- where there are 4 Hyatt hotels. As a World of Hyatt elite member, I also used one of my confirmed Club Lounge Awards as strangely Club Access does not come included with standard suites, no other Hyatt I've been to has this policy.

Arriving in the early morning, the hotel was unable to accommodate early check-in due to high occupancy, I would assume. Other than that, the room was reasonably spacious for a Grand Suite with good views of Beijing. I would have liked it if the bathroom was more spacious (e.g. like having a double sink, separate toilet and shower area, etc.) -- many hotels in Asia would have larger toilets in standard rooms, rather a standard suite.

To its credit, the Grand Hyatt is great on the location though was initially challenging to locate the entrance when arriving via car. Similarly, the Club Lounge was spectacular and very practical. There was a wide variety of alcoholic beverages (no less than 6 types of wines and 10 types of spirits) and even hot dine-on-demand options available each day, in addition to self-serve canapés. I also found service within the Club Lounge spot on, even when adjusting for the language barrier. However, the daily breakfast is in need of some refreshment as there seemed to be little variety as to the options offered each day I stayed.

Regarding the hotel amenities, the only area I could comment on was the pool and spa facilities. And wow, the pool felt like an indoor version of the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Communication throughout my stay was not much of an issue, though it was an issue at Made In China -- the property's restaurant -- where I had a 15-minute long conversation with the staff over business cards, the purpose I can't seem to understand still.

Overall, I found this to be a solid option for any traveller though maybe in a competitive hotel market in Beijing with other great options (e.g. the St Regis), it may need to undergo some upgrading to stay relevant in the future.

GeraldUrsulet, Manager at Grand Hyatt Beijing, responded to this review

thank you very much for taking the time to write such a detailed review of our hotel. Your feedback is very much appreciated!

We have well noted your comments related to the breakfast selection in Grand Club, our Executive Lounge as well as this strange request to receive your business card in Made in China. I apologize for these shortfalls and will be sure to follow up immediately.

Thank you once again and we look forward to welcoming you back.
    Sincerely,
    Gerald
