I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Excellent 1 night business stay for one person. Great location.

Shanghai Region, China | Dec 26, 2018 | Trip type: Business

When I’m on business, I need a quiet room, big desk with space to work and plenty of electrical sockets for my devices, and a good location. Crowne Plaza ticked all the right boxes for me.

My platinum status was recognised with a room upgrade.

Room was comfortable. Wifi good. Work space sufficient.

Location in the heart of Beijing with ready access to taxis and didi cars made transport easy. Especially important with Beijing’s tough traffic conditions.

Breakfast had a decent range of western and Chinese food.

In a very welcome change from the past, I noticed staff being quite firm in stopping people smoking in places they shouldn’t.

Special mention to Kobe at the front desk reception. I arrived at around midnight, grumpy and tired after a delayed flight. His warm personality and professional efficiency breezed me through check in which was much appreciated.

Hotel is very well located walking distance from good restaurantes and main shopping areas while additionally being so close to the forbidden city which is a must MUST! Breakfast a good mixture of local, international and even some Indian food. Good rooms.

  • great hotel, wonderful staff

We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights, at the 8th floor, club room. this is not the first time we had chosen that hotel.
The location is wonderful, in Wangfujing st. with subway line 5 and useful buses nearby. The staff in all areas of the hotel were very welcoming and friendly and took care of everything we needed.
Although some renovation of the rooms (in terms of carpets, interior design etc.) would be appreciated, the club rooms are very spacious with great bathroom. Note that club twin rooms only face the lobby, with no fresh air, which is a bit of disadvantage.
Overall, especially for the great service and staff, we would definitely chose this hotel in the future, highly recommended.

  • Excellent Hotel

Coventry, United Kingdom | Dec 5, 2018 | Trip type: Business

Stayed in December 2018, a very nice hotel with exceptional large room that had good facilities, including a walk in shower room. The bed was very large and very comfortable. Breakfast is buffet style which also has some Indian food selection, which I choose. Check in, and check out is the usual China fussy manner with many checks.
    Good location and recommended hotel

  • Sub-standard rooms made up for by excellent staff

Malmo, Sweden | Nov 11, 2018 | Trip type: Solo travel

TL;DR: The staff of Crowne Plaza Beijing saved this from being a 2 (or 3) star review as they are great. The rooms however, not so much. Location is fantastic.

This hotel gets 4 stars primarily because of the staff because had it been based on the actual rooms it would have been much lower. I arrived in the afternoon and when checking in it seemed my high floor room request had been ignored/missed, but the receptionist managed to find me a room on the 6th floor. Some rooms have views over Wangfujing road, but mine was into other buildings and a parking lot. No matter, the view wasn’t important, the room is. I was greeted by a musty smell that smelt a bit like instant noodles .. not overly pleasant. The cleaning was sub-par when I arrived; a used cotton tip was left on the floor and the trash bin had not been emptied from the previous guest. Room felt tired and not up to the Crowne Plaza standard I am used to. The towel rack over the bath was precariously sloping down toward the tub. WiFi was acceptable, and I could use my VPN at least initially.

I was a little disappointed the IHG welcome drink offers only one sort of local beer which wasn't particularly tasty, but better than nothing.

Breakfast on the Saturday morning was below average but had some good western choices. Dishes that were meant to be kept warm were cold in the middle, the guy making the omelettes must have been the slowest I had ever seen, he was humming to himself oblivious to the line of people waiting for omelettes. There is a huge carved out block of cheese beside the cereals, which was completely out of place and smelt strong. No-one offered coffee, but found the self-service by the juices.

My impressions of the hotel were a little inconsistent; because cleaning was much better on the Saturday, and breakfast was significantly better run on the Sunday morning.

Ok, that's the bad - now onto the good. The staff: special mention goes to concierge Jack who went to considerable effort to help me to book a driver to the Great Wall. I wanted to share the cost with another hotel guest and Jack organized the whole thing which ran like clockwork. If you are wanting to visit the Great Wall at Mutianyu and are several who want to share a car, it’s far superior to the tour bus option. The other staff member I also want to thank is Mike. He recommended a good local peking duck restaurant, and helped me find a flower shop on Sunday morning, even sending one of his porters along with me as I would not have found it myself… A very good and proficient concierge team it seems.
Reception and breakfast staff were also excellent (maybe not the breakfast crew the first day), I was allowed a late checkout and was a little late getting back to the hotel - the reception staff were good about this. Most of the staff I encountered had decent/good English which is not always a given in Chinese hotels.

Tried the gym on Sunday morning, and it is OK. The cycling machines are not the best, but there are several treadmills and a selection of machines/weights. The windows are screwed shut which is a little dumb, as it would have been nice to get some fresh air through the building. Didn't try the pool, both are on the top floor.

I’m disappointed in the rooms which I think are a little crappy for being a Crowne Plaza, but the bed was comfortable, the sheets clean and the staff made my stay a good one.
