On a business trip and needing a perfect place to stay - this is it!

If you are looking for a hotel with exceptional service, well engineered modern rooms, delicious restaurants in a perfect location, then this is your hotel. The hotel personally organized a two day sightseeing trip for my husband and me. It included a private driver, many sights to see and even reservations at beautiful local restaurants. I was there for business too and my office was a stone's throw away - very convenient location. The US hotels should take lessons on what true service looks like. This is the real deal.Paul W, General Manager at Park Hyatt Beijing, responded to this review

Thank you also for recommending us, it certainly means a great deal to us and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

This was my first time staying at a Park Hyatt and this property in Beijing did not disappoint. I booked my room through Chase Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection for around $230 USD/night, which included a free upgrade, free breakfast buffet, and CNY600 (approximately $88 USD) food and beverage credit. Pretty great for a 5-star hotel. The hotel itself is located on the upper floors of a multi-purpose skyscraper. I had a deluxe park king room on one of the corners, equipped with a Nespresso machine, rain shower, bathtub, heated automated toilet, and separate changing room. The food at the China Grill, a western-style steakhouse, was delicious but expensive. The Park Hyatt is located in the Beijing business district, so it's a bit far away from the main landmarks (such as Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City); I didn't mind because I like to walk, and there's also a subway station nearby for easy access to other parts of the city. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and multilingual. There's also a great fitness center, pool, and hot tub with amazing views. As an FYI, the hotel is undergoing renovations in their main lobby so they've set up a temporary one on another of the floors (beautifully decorated, you wouldn't even know it was temporary). Getting to it is a bit confusing at first, including several elevator transfers, but there was a staff member at each point directing traffic. Renovations are expected to be completed after the end of the year. Overall, I was very impressed and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in the future.Paul W, General Manager at Park Hyatt Beijing, responded to this review
Dear Trevor M,
Thank you for staying at Park Hyatt Beijing and taking your precious time to share your experience with us from your recent visit on TripAdvisor.
I am thrilled to read your recognition and praise on our hotel and so glad you appreciate the benefits extended and the room upgrade as per the arrangements we have with your agent. Thank you also for complimenting the food in China Grill, and in regards to your feedback on the prices, whilst I acknowledge the restaurant is a premium priced outlet, our focus is on quality produce sourced globally and we consistently review our prices to comparable restaurants in Beijing. Nonetheless your comments are duly noted.
Finally I would like to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by our lobby renovations this time, you were very understanding, thank you! I hope we are able to welcome you back soon, as we would be proud to show you our renovated hotel facilities in the new year.

This is strictly a business hotel. Not really situated for those wanting to visit for tourism. The rooms are well-appointed which you'd expect from a PArk Hyatt.
I've stayed at a lot of international Hyatts (31 countries and counting). So, I'd make a couple observations to international guests considering staying here:
- The hotel is geared more towards a domestic market. I was surprised with the lack of English with the hotel staff, even front line employees. I just came back from the Regency in Bishkek it was easier to communicate there.
- There is no special consideration for top-tier Hyatt members (Globalists). There is no member's rate and somehow Globalists are excluded from the Cocktail hour available to suite guests.
- The hotel is under renovation with a confusing flow and no lobby per se.
However, location is excellent for those on business.Paul W, General Manager at Park Hyatt Beijing, responded to this review
Thank you for staying at Park Hyatt Beijing and taking time to share your recent stay experience and observations on TripAdvisor.
Your feedback has been taken most seriously, as we do with all guest feedback. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the issues you experienced and any inconvenience the current hotel renovations may have caused you during your stay. Normally we are always willing to extend upgrades in accordance to the World of Hyatt program, whenever possible, especially to our most loyal Globalist guests, such as yourself. However, this whole week the city of Beijing has been extremely busy with the China African forum and we have been operating at full occupancy. As such I regret that we were unable to upgrade you to one of our suites this stay, which I sincerely apologize.
Thank you for your recognition of our guest rooms which have also recently been renovated and I hope we are able to welcome you back soon, as we would be proud to show you our renovated hotel facilities in the new year.
Excellent hotel with very comfortable beds, and polite helpful staff.

The room was wonderful, and the beds very comfortable. I had been staying in another business hotel in Xinzhou china with very hard beds. The bathtub and high tech toilet were also great. The staff was very helpful and courteous. I only wish that one of the restaurants on the premises had traditional Chinese food. It was hard to find in the neighborhood.Paul W, General Manager at Park Hyatt Beijing, responded to this review
Thank you for staying at Park Hyatt Beijing and taking the time to share your recent stay experience on TripAdvisor.
We sincerely appreciate your recognition on our associates service, and guestroom. We would also like to take this opportunity to let you know that, we have commenced renovation work on the hotel lobby, and the restaurant on Level 63, as well as a conversion of the hotel's Level 62 in late July, continuing the ongoing upgrades of hotel and elevating our property to a higher state of contemporary elegance and luxury. This follows the Ballroom, meeting rooms on Level 61 and the on-going guestroom renovations, which all commenced back in June 2017. Currently, “The Lounge” temporarily operating on Level 61 still provides Chinese dishes such as Peking Duck, noodles and other Cantonese Dishes and Northern China classic dishes.
I hope we are able to welcome you back soon, as we would be proud to have you try out our newly renovated hotel facilities.
better wait until CNY 2019...
tedhlAug 21, 2018 | Trip type: Business
I'd caution people about staying here at least until after CNY...it's under renovation that lasts until CNY (well there's never a "truth" or single answer here, someone said end of 2008 and someone said clearly until "Chinese" new year).
It used to be my favorite and #1 choice in BJ. in a stay a couple of months ago, in the early morning there's huge renovation (eg drilling) sound right above my room. (I have a video - not sure how to post, but all my friends who saw it could only respond with "OMG"). noises at a completely unbearable level. I was in 43F, when I called them they said, oh yes, there's renovation happening at 45F now so it's two floors above you. then I have to remind them - but you guys don't have 44F here !! frankly I think it's quite ethical or at least bad business practice to rent out such rooms to guests. they told me it's because of high occupancy but frankly I think this shouldn't be an excuse - it's just compromising customer loyalty for short term profit. they said renovation should start only at 10 am, but my experience was that continuous-completely-unbearable noises start maybe 9-10 am, and yet there's occasional drilling happening already even earlier - they told me it's probably the contractors catching up on progress and doing things against the agreed rules. but even if so - we do pay for the rooms full day and not just till 10 am, and during renovation time it's frankly just completely not possible to stay in those rooms they still offer.
anyway, they told me it would be done by end July. I gave them another month and just came here again. it's my fault not to ask my assistant to confirm more explicitly first. it turns out it's even worse now - the whole lobby etc area is under renovation. not sure if it's because of the temporary smaller space, but front desk service is much worse. even when I checked in around midnight there's a queue of 3 people in front of me and there's a wait of 10+ minutes. at checkout - I always at all hotels stop by the front desk before breakfast to ask them to prepare my bill and print the Chinese tax invoices etc. today after 30 mins when I went back they said they're still just printing it !!
the worse was...while the renovation of rooms indeed was done by end July, there's hence very strong (and toxic?) renovation smell in the room. and the worst was - they said they don't have an air purifier for every room and they ran out of it !! (because I checked in too late?) I got the final final one and yet it's just too weak (I checked online and it said it's for size 20-30 m2 while their room is like 50 m2?). I asked for a second one and then they said they actually ran out of it already - and came back with an desktop-size air humidifier (which they claim also have air purifying function - frankly even if so it's just even more useless). what's more ironic, online in their room description they said the hotel is equipped with PM 2.5 air purification system...but I have to say their rooms now probably are as toxic or even more toxic than the rest of BJ that's well known for air problem...
anyway, I have to say it still should be my favorite hotel in BJ but I wouldn't stay here at least until CNY 2019...Paul W, General Manager at Park Hyatt Beijing, responded to this review
Dear Mr. Chan
Clearly I can see you are extremely disappointed with us for which I am sincerely sorry and I can fully empathize with you surrounding the impact of the renovations.
As I have your contact details I will reach out to you privately.
