I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

My wife and I stayed at the WA Beijing for five nights in June 18. Right from our first look at the facade which shimmers on a bright day, we knew we were in for something special. We’d heard and read about the world famous WA service and style but experiencing it was even better. So here goes; smiling staff opening the doors for you every time you walked in and out, superbly kept lobby and interiors, personal assistant and concierge, a heated pool and jacuzzi in the basement, huge (and I mean huge bathroom), toiletries by Salvatore Ferragamo no less , perfect beds and mattresses and pillows, a great breakfast buffet, and perfect location. The afternoon tea was the most amazingly well presented food that I’ve ever been served. A minor concern of ours was addressed honestly and diligently, which really impressed us!

Thanks to Barney, Matthew and Betty for taking great care of us. We loved the WA experience!!

  • A 'Channel Orange' Hotel
    Brendan F
Beijing, China | Jun 17, 2018 | Trip type: Family

My experience of staying in both the Premier King Room and the Presidential Suite at Waldorf Astoria Beijing (WAB) felt like living in the physical representation of R&B artist Frank Ocean's Channel Orange album. As he sings "grapevine, mango, peaches, and limes, the sweet life", I begin to recollect the fruit and pastries left out for my family and I in the living room. The service, suite as a whole and the amenities of the hotel truly justify the Waldorf Astoria reputation.

    Service:
While porters and attentive concierge staff are standard at a luxury hotel, the service at WAB goes above and beyond this. The concierge staff staff act in a professional and efficient manner that could easily be mistaken for poor hospitality, rather than competency. The janitors and staff working in the spa level are, appropriately, much more friendly and warm. The room service, such as complimentary shoe shine service, differentiates Waldorf Astoria from some of its contemporaries. The most striking memory I have of the service is, however, the fact that they laid out roses at the bed spelling out 生日快乐 (Happy Birthday) and made a cake specially for us. Overall, the hospitality was not exactly homely, but rather World Class - you are in a luxury hotel not a B&B after all.

    Room:
The Presidential Suite certainly has an regal sentiment to it. Despite few experiences to compare my stay to, I can certainly say the suite was luxurious beyond measure. Complete with 3 stocked fridges/ mini-bars with soft drinks, high quality juices and even champagne, there is little more you can ask for. The living room, office and dining room are all spacious and decorated with suitably decadent ornaments. The toiletries are either Salvatore Ferragamo or an equally high quality brand. The List of Opulence can go on, but I'll spare you the surprise.

The Premier King Room is similarly excellent, albeit smaller.

    Hotel amenities:
Brasserie 1893, where you will have breakfast buffet, if you have that option, is a wonderfully ambient restaurant, and serves delicious continental cuisine. The Chinese food is a real highlight. The pool and spa area are also very nice to say the least. You may enjoy a spin in the steam room after a swim, if you so desire.

Overall, I'd sum up my experience with this: if I received a dollar for every time I muttered "wow" at something that amazed me, I'd be able to stay at WAB again.

Disclaimer: my stay at the Waldorf Astoria Beijing is different from most guests. I gained a coupon for a night in the Waldorf Astoria villa from an auction. However, as the villa was unavailable, the food and beverage manager Jason Zeng offered us different package - a night in the Presidential Suite and Premier King Room with breakfast and dinner included.

  • Fabulous hotel

We had a really wonderful stay at the Waldorf Astoria. The hotel is situated in Wanfujing, walking distance from shopping and the Forbidden City. The hotel itself is really modern with a funky interior, it felt very new.

The staff were very friendly and courteous at all times, always on hand to help out with any requests we had. The room was incredible. I don't think I've stayed in a room so big before! We were in a corner room with a huge set of windows overlooking Wanfujing, and we also had a huge bathroom with it's own massive window. It was spacious beyond belief! We were provided with wifi details, as well as a tablet to us in the room. The one snag of this hotel would be this point; the wifi connection isn't great, and as it's China, a lot of the usual sites you would use don't work, so we tried using the tablet instead to access maps etc online, but the tablet didn't work well either. It did make trying to find information online rather taxing.

We enjoyed room service one evening, and ordered some tasty food. We ordered prawn and squid noodles but requested no squid, but when it arrived it had one prawn in and LOTS of squid. Perhaps lost in translation, but a little frustrating esp given the high standards of the hotel. Nevertheless the dish was very tasty.

The pool area is stunning and felt relatively unused. We were joint by two other people down there for the entire hour and a half we spent in and around the pool. There is a beautiful large pool for swimming as well as an oversized jacuzzi, along with steam facilities in each changing room. It was wonderful!

Breakfast at the hotel was phenomenal. So much on offer! It was delicious, ample and set you up for the rest of the day. It was the best buffet breakfast Ive had in a long time. Well done Waldorf Astoria!

Overall, a great stay. If they can fix the wifi in the rooms and make the tablet a little more usable that would make this a near on perfect hotel.

  • Great location, beautiful property, good service

This hotel is well-located in the Wangfujing area, walking distance to high end shopping, the night street food market, and many restaurants. It's also convenient to depart on sightseeing outings from this location. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, and the room was spacious with a fantastic marble bathroom. There was a lot of storage room and room to relax. The bathroom had a large tub, separate shower, double sinks and a toilet room with a toilet that did pretty much any task for you! The service in the hotel was attentive and accomodating, although not everyone had a mastery of English (but then again, we WERE in China.) We were greeted every time we re-entered by a doorman or other staff member, which is a nice touch. The delicious, bountiful breakfast buffet provided so many choices - british, japanese, chinese, italian, american, etc. that we were never bored with it. This would be my choice for a repeat stay in Beijing.
