I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Good location by Wangfujing shopping and subway station; good breakfast
Liberty, Missouri | May 10, 2018 | Trip type: Friends getaway

This was a good choice for a very short stay in Beijing. The hotel was clean and well staffed with people at reception who spoke English well and were efficient, though they weren’t terribly friendly. There is also a tour agency within the hotel but there is no push to use them.

The hotel is very close to the Wangfujing subway station on line 1 so there is no problem dragging your bags to and from station to get to/from the airport (about an hour trip each way). When exiting Wangfujing station take exit B and exit to the left to come out closest to hotel. There is also a Bank of China between the hotel and the Wangfujing subway station where you can conveniently change dollars for yuan or yuan for dollars.

The hotel was clean, the bed and pillows comfortable and the included breakfast buffet very good and located in a nice atrium. Chopsticks at the tables but silverware available at bread station.
The hotel rooms had air conditioners that worked quickly to cool the room and you control temperature, which isn’t always the case. They had wash cloths in addition to hand towels and bath towels. They had toothbrushes and toothaste, hair dryers, soap and shampoo, room safe, closet with hangers, plenty of 220 outlets (bring a converter or two). Though I didn’t see anyone smoking in the hotel, the hallways smelled of cigarette smoke though my room didn’t seem to smell. Maybe the carpet and wall coverings are saturated with smoke smell from pre-smoking ban.

Look up the “Art Scam” and “Tea/Beer scam” before going to Wangfujing market area. I was approached about every 15 minutes by people who spoke excellent English trying one or the other scam. You can chat and get information from these people but do not go anywhere with them.

Since the Wangfujing shopping area is right around the corner, there are plenty of eating options. The first side street off Wangfujing from the hotel has the local food stands and souvenir shops with scorpion and bugs to eat. One of the first side streets from the hotel off Wangfujing (opposite side from scorpion alley) had very good Chinese food with my favorite a steamed dumpling place with cold beer and photos of what they have above front counter with English descriptions.

Don’t try to call a taxi/DiDi from the front of the hotel. Cars can’t go down that street. You need to go to either corner to get your cab but there was always one within 2 minutes. I used the corner to the East of the Hotel just past the police station. Be sure to download the DiDi app and connect your credit card to it. I had no trouble using Bank of America Travel Visa and DiDi is awesome with no worries about getting taken by illegal taxis. Since you’ll have multiple charges to the same Chinese company (DiDi) you may have to call your credit card company after using it a couple of times and ask them to note that company so they don’t block it. I notified my card company I was traveling to China but they still blocked card until I called them again.

While the price for location was great by Wangfujing area for food and shopping, the proximity to Tiananmen and the Forbidden City wasn’t important since they can be accessed easily from any hotel near a subway station. I’ll probably try something closer to a park next time but I was pleased, overall.

  • Good and Bad

    Sydney, Australia | Nov 22, 2017

A nice enough Hotel in a very good position, probably the best in Beijing for Wangfujing St. Our room was a good size with good bed and shower.
But the staff were the worst I have encountered in China. Absolutely ignored whilst checking in. A bizzare experience with little understanding of English, and likewise on checkout. Need to walk a bit outside to get Taxi due to.... dunno, maybe something to do with regulations and a Police station next door.
Tried to hit us up for almost $40 for two breakfasts so we crossed the road to McDonalds.. for $5.00.
The smell of smoke was everywhere in halls and even the lift.
The `Bar` was a joke with semi filled bottles of coloured water masquerading as liquor, and only beer available at 20RMB. Both restaurants were not open, and room service had only a few items. Never again for us.

    Nov 13, 2017 | Trip type: Couples

The hotel is close to train station and nearby to mall and shopping area. Location was really good.

The price was also cheaper compared to the other nearby hotels with decent bed and huge room.

    Also our room was clean.

  • Wonderful Location

Alexandria, Egypt | Oct 22, 2017 | Trip type: Solo travel

Location is amazing, really in city center, a lot of shopping malls are near, different restaurants & coffee shops also, McDonald's on the corner, KFC & pizza hut along Wangfujing street, Subway inside a near mall & many many restaurants, metro station is one minute walk, inside a large shopping mall.
The staff are helpful, rooms are clean, the big problem is Air condition, the room is so warm, always 26 or 27 degrees, so this is the most annoying thing in hotel, breakfast is good, this was my 2nd time in this hotel.
Also there's a problem of street closed in front of hotel, so you have to walk with your luggage to the near junction to have a cab or bus !!!!!!!

  • Wonderful!!! Localization is great!!!
Berrien Springs, Michigan | Aug 22, 2016 | Trip type: Family

We had a great experience here!!! The room was clean, the people were very helpfull, the breakfast was terrific!!! Just the bed was hard!!!! But we had a good time. The localization is great, we can go shopping, eating in a very short distance!!! Actually we're in the city center!!!
