I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Perfect Hutong Experience!
    Jordan E
    Sep 9, 2015 | Trip type: Couples

If you are looking for a Hutong experience, stay here! We stayed in other Hutong Hotels/Boutique Inn's throughout our trip and wished we would've stayed put at Lusongyuan!
The risk with hutong hotels in this price range is possibly feeling hostel-ish, and this one does not! The courtyards are beautiful! There are 4-5 and they are clean, authentic, and a great place to relax for a minute in the crazy city!
We stayed in their double bed room, the cheapest one! It was small, but nice-old cool lamps and an old telephone! It is not a luxury hotel by any means, but if you are like us, looking for somewhere to lay your heads at night but still get an authentic, cool experience, this is the place! We got robes and tea in the room, which was nice! The front desk was helpful even with the language barrier!
We did not try the restaurant, but the hutong as some great street food! 1-2 streets up is a great baozi place! Also, there are MANY hutongs in Beijing, we walked through and stayed in others, but this one was our favorite! There is a lot going on, you can see so much China in one street! As well as some great Western/European coffee shops mixed in! :) This is by far the best Hutong we found, where it's at right now for the locals!

  • Value, Convenience and Tranquility

The Lusongyuan is a real find. It's incredibly good value -- the price varies seasonally, but I managed to get a single room with breakfast for less than £34 a night. Wifi is free and fast, too. It's convenient, because it's less than 5 minutes walt from the Nanluoguxiang subway station on line 6 (4 stops from the terminus of the airport express). And, best of all it's a haven of tranquility in central Beijing.
The hotel is a heritage building, with 60 rooms around 5 courtyards, in the old part of the city that has not been bulldozed for skyscrapers. Nanluoguxiang itself is a zoo for little eateries and shops popular with young people, but a short walk down Banchang Hutong and you find yourself in the quiet of the hotel. The breakfast is an excellent spread of western and Chinese food, and you can sit out in the central courtyard to eat and relax. The man-made lakes are an ejoyable 15 minute walk away through the old alleys of the city.
For this price, you won't expect or be getting 5 star luxury, of course. My room was small, but impeccably clean. The bed was firm (which I prefer anyway), there was a very effective air conditioner, and the bathroom (also very clean) had an over-the-bath shower. There was no in-room safe or fridge, but there was a small kettle, tea, and instant coffee. I felt I had everything I needed. The staff were very helpful. I was on a work trip and I speak Chinese, so for me this was perfect. It wouldn't work for someone unfamiliar with Beijing wanting to hold meetings and so on, but if you are here for tourism, this would be a great place to base yourself.

  • Old China

Melbourne, Australia | May 19, 2015 | Trip type: Couples

Experience Old China. Enjoy the hutong experience. We stayed here in 2000 and had a very good experience. Back in 2015 and it is still a great little treasure hidden away from the busy main thoroughfares in a quiet hutong. Excellent Asian/Western breakfasts. Very obliging reception staff. Wonderful grand residence of a wealthy Chinese person days gone by. Great base to explore the hutongs. Reception will organise transport if you want to see significant sights. If you want a "local" experience you cannot get a better hotel. Highly recommend.

  • Great hotel, i've been there 4 or more times!

San Diego | May 18, 2015 | Trip type: Family

This hotel is in a perfect location. not easy to find, but it's in a very popular hutong street with many shops and cafes. If you're taking a taxi or subway there, the best location that taxis would know and is closest to the hotel is at exit E of Nanlouguxiang metro station. Or, there is a foot massage place very close to the hotel, the address is 北京东城区板长胡同2-4-103室. That address should be easy for any taxi driver to find.

  • History Galore!

Must read booklet provided about the history of the hotel at front desk. Small, really old, but clean and neat. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was great! Made to order and included in room price. Beds were very hard, but clean. Antique furniture in rooms. Tiny bathroom, but again, clean, which is most important when traveling. Do need to know: we arrived at 1:00 a.m. after a really late flight and when dropped off by taxi, neighborhood was really scary. Were worried at first, but the next morning proved to be a different story. The neighborhood is just really, really old and was actually a vibrant area. Proved to be a great choice!
