Questions & Answers

I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

Just a typical business night for me before the next day flight, it reaches typical Hilton standard, I got my platinum perks, upgrade etc during stay, staff are extremely friendly and attentive to help. Location is good to me, convenient to look for food in next door shopping mall and can have a good run to the Baiyun mountain.

  • Good Hotel - But Far From Metro
    Lipetsk
Lipetsk, Russia | Jan 10, 2018 | Trip type: Couples

Those who prefer to travel in foreign cities by taxi only, may not read my review further. Or read only the part devoted to our hotel room and hotel peculiarities.
I honestly tried to remember why I chose this particular hotel for my stay in Guangzhou as I booked it as early as April 2017 (for our stay in January 2018). Maybe, it was not only the magic of the Hilton brand and my previous positive experiences, perhaps it was a good price, or a plan to visit Baiyun Park with its attractions near-by...).
Before the flight to China I studied Google Maps and Yandex satellite maps in order to find a better way to reach the hotel. We had no heavy bags with us, so it seemed logical for us to pay 16 yuan for the Metro than 150 yuan for a taxi. On the monitor screen the way to the hotel was easy and short (later we learned that it was not difficult at all). Unfortunately all the space maps seem to be very old: many buildings shown on them were razored off and there's now a big construction site.
It is very easy to get to the hotel from the Baiyun International Airport. You follow the signs with the Metro logo down to the ground floor, get coins and/or small denomination paper bills (5 or 10 yuan only) in a special kiosk, and then approach machines with a touchable screen to buy a green metro token. The menu is in Cninese and English. The station of departure is included to the count of price automatically - you only need to press your finger to the station of your destination, and after that press the number of tickets. With the tokens and change in hand you go to the entrance of the station Baiyun South to have your posessions screened. If you plan to sit on a bench in a metro carriage, you should act quickly and nearly rush to it, otherwise in a fracture of a second all the seats will be taken by the local passengers. On a fourth station (Jiahewanggang) you are to change the line, but it's very simple: you just go to the opposite side of the same platform. Five more stations - and here you are - go to Exit B of the Baiyun Park station. When you get to the surface, turn to the right and go for about 100 metres along an informative white fence with slogans in Chinese and English. Behind the fence is the construction of a skyscraper. On the cross-road you turn right again and go another 300-400 metres. Then there is the final cross-road from which the hotel is in its full view.
The entrance hall is very spacious, and it was festively decorated for Christmas and New 2018 year when we entered it. On the 3rd of January the gorgeous fur-tree was removed.
The check-in was very quick and friendly, they demanded a deposit of 2000 yuan and were much surprised when I offered to pay it in cash. Later I noticed that the Chinese pay mostly with the help of their smartphones or UnionPay Cards. Most hotel guests were China.
We were given a room on the 6th floor facing an inner yard of the hotel. That is why it was always very calm and quiet there. The room was very big, with a king-size bed, a sofa, a small table, a flat TV, a small fridge, tea and coffee facility. The bathroom was also very big with a glass wall facing the bed, a separate spacious bath, a shower room and a WC. Towels were changed every day, as well as small plastic bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There were more than 50 TV channels, but not a single one in the Russian languages.
Breakfast dishes were the same every day but very plentiful. The only thing I did not like in the breakfast restaurant was the stream of cold air passing through the wall panels if you are offered a table by the wall. May be it's some kind of ventilation.
We also enjoyed the pool on the 3rd floor which is very long and well equipped. It's convenient that there's a separate elevator at the end of the corridor which stops just opposite the pool entrance - so we were able to visit it in the white bathrobes from our room.
Behind the hotel is a big shopping complex with a supermarket, and many places to eat out in the evening with democratic prices. There's also a PC and smartphones trading street with lots of shops. Though we failed to find a new cover for my iPad 2 - oh, it's very-very old, sorry-sorry!
I believe Hilton Baiyun won't disappoint you as far as food and comfort are conserned. But it's far from the epicentre of cultural or artistic or night life of Guangzhou.

    Dec 30, 2017 | Trip type: Family

Wonderful hotel with great value in Guangzhou. Relatively modern nice rooms and good location for family (5-10min walk to kids Theme Park), subway station also few minutes walk. Good for business travellers too as not far from city center. Excecutive Lounge is one of the best in town, well decorated/managed with drinks and food stocked up all the time. The quality of breakfast is very much upscale using swiss yogurt and about six kinds of fresh squeezed juice in individual bottles, omlete, nuts, dumplings (hargao/siu mai). May get even bigger variety downstairs for breakfast but the personalized service by Jenny, Wincy and evening staff was so cool and our 4 year old twins love them!

The room is spacious and clean, but the club lounge is below expectation. They displayed various type of alcohol, but cannot make cocktails. Smoking is allowed in the level 1 bar. Please avoid if you cannot tolerate passive smoking.

    Dec 4, 2017 | Trip type: Business

Was at the Hilton Baiyun Guangzhou for business. This hotel much better than the hotel at the Baiyun Convention center. So go to this Hilton hotel if you have a convention. The rooms at this Hilton Hotel are clean and the amenities are well. The staff at the executive lounge are kind and friendly. They made me feel at home during my staying at the Hilton. Wish that all Hilton hotels are like this one!
