I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Average hotel with great location
singapore | Feb 9, 2015 | Trip type: Solo travel

Its location is a major plus point! But do lower your expectations for everything else - room, towels, breakfast, counter-service, etc...
Coming out from the hotel main entrance, turn right will lead you to Central Street whilst turning left to bring you to ZhaoLin Park's side-entrance- that 's how conveniently located it is!
The room is quite basic and not-so-new. Cleanliness is acceptable but do check the towels on subsequent days; if they feel wet, you may wanna ask for a change to dry towels.
Buffet breakfast could be a concern for non-Chinese although there were enough varieties.
Counter-service was acceptable especially if you speak their language.

  • Really 3.5 but it depends on your expectations
Los Angeles, California | Jan 29, 2015 | Trip type: Solo travel

I'm torn between giving this hotel 4 stars and 3 stars. First the positives that make me lean towards 4 stars. The location is great, right in the center of Harbin, just a short and quick walk from the touristy pedestrianized Zhongyang Dajie and the Songhua River. Also very nearby is the historic Saint Sophia Church. This is the ultimate pro for this hotel, the location. Additionally, the room was modern and good with free wifi and television, not many international channels, though. Bathroom was nice. Other reviews complain about cleanliness. For me, I had to look hard to see a tiny bit of grime in the corners, but that was all, pretty much spotless. Room and turn down service were fine. Thick duvets and heating kept out the frigid Harbin winter. No minibar, though, just bottled water.
So why just 3 stars if I was satisfied with all the above? The front desk was a little lacking in information. Checking in was fine, enough broken English was spoken, so no language barrier problems. It was just that I was given my room key and that was that, no information about the restaurant or breakfast or taxis or sights or getting to and from the various snow and ice activities. Maybe the language was an issue regarding this type of information. And then upon checking out, I was waiting a few minutes at the desk, saw some other guests just walk up and get the attention of the guy at the front desk and realized that's what I needed to do. He handed me a receipt and went back to his typing, I thought there might be something else, but he was done, just didn't give me any signal until I confirmed.
Living in a China, I'm used to this kind of service, so I wasn't bothered by it. So for a Chinese business traveler or someone used to China and speaks the language, I lean towards 4 stars. But if you're a tourist unfamiliar with China or Harbin, this is 3 star service. So 3.5 when you add together and average the service and the good room and great location.

  • Perfect location in Harbin
Shanghai, China | Feb 23, 2014 | Trip type: Friends getaway

I would definitely suggest you this hotel if you are okay with Chinese standards hotel.
The best thing of this hotel is for sure the location, as you are just right on the famous pedestrian street, zhongyang jie.
This is a good hotel for Chinese Standard, firm bed, clean bathroom, warm room and good breakfast, therefore you can't require more if you are paying only 28 GBP per night for a double room including breakfast, right?
If you have higher expectations then go to a western standard hotel.

  • Great Value!

This hotel offers great value and is in a fantastic location. It is only 1 block away from Zhaolin park where the lantern festival (smaller version of the Snow and Ice Festival) is located. The entrance is in the South of the park which is a 5min walk and costs 200RMB (January 2014). It is also 1 block away from Central Street, the longest pedestrian shopping street in Asia. There are plenty of restaurants and stores and ice statues on display. The hotel is also only a short walk away from the river. We have never had any problems hailing a taxi cab in front of the hotel.
We had an interior room for less than US$40 per night. The room was small with 2 beds and a comparably large bathroom with a large shower. The water pressure in the toilet and shower was low, but OK in the sink. Unlike many other Chinese hotels, our room did not have a dirty carpet but clean wood laminate floor and the bathroom had tiles. The room was clean and the furniture in good condition. 2 complementary bottles of water were provided per day. Breakfast for 1 person was included in the price and we purchased a second for 28RMB per day. The breakfast selection was large and we found it to be tasty. Many different Chinese dishes (incl. 3 types of congee) were provided. The selection on day 1 and 3 was the same. On the 2nd morning of our visit, some dishes were changed, e.g. the Chinese version of sweet and sour chicken was available. Dinner was served in the same room, too.
Long story short: the low price and excellent location make this hotel a good choice. I recommend it.

  • Worst Hotel
Hong Kong, China | Jan 6, 2015 | Trip type: Friends getaway

Don't even know where to start.
I am a frequent traveler and never slept in such a bad hotel.
The rooms were filthy dirty to start, the floors and bathroom had oobviously not been cleaned , that is after downgrading do a lower class room as the premium rooms carpets were nasty and the bathroom full of left over hair.
Upon return to the room after a long day, sheets were not changed as requested , the only cleaning done was emptying trash and changing towels, worst, someone had obviously smoked in the bathroom, ashes were left on the sink!
Walls are paper thin, people run around corridors , there is no wifi in the room so people are csmoking in pjs and flip flops near the elevator to get somewhat of a signal .
Staff is arrogant and unhelpful .
Any value to this hotel? None , worst stay ever
