I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

Stayed there one night. Location is very convenient, 30 min by metro to train station. It was one of the cheapest option in Nanjing with "international name". Bathroom is ridiculous, plastic walls, gives a feeling of tacking shower in a public place or train (good train:). Breakfast is very poor for guests who prefer western food; but coffee, eggs and bread are there.

The Ibis we stayed at I think was a different location than the (only) one listed here. Either way I will be writing a review.

This was a business trip and our work provided the hotel for us.

The rooms were average in size, decent T.V. with your typical Chinese channels.
The beds were pretty bad, very hard (chinese style) and only 2 pillows of very different sizes. the bedding was average at best with a single comforter on the bed.

The bathroom was okay, shower actually had great pressure and good heat. The bath shower gel wasn't very good and was just bulk.
They supplied you with hand soap, tooth brushes, slippers. THere is also a hair dryer available.

THe window opened enough for a breeze but there was no view. Had the ability to boil water and they provided a free bottle of water and two packages of tea.

    I didn't use the wifi.

The breakfast "buffet" was really really bad. I actually left after trying to eat some of the food. THe eggs had a horrible chemical smell the rest was very chinese. (noodles, some veg, congge etc...) they offered coffee but it was a bunch of instant packages put into a coffee pot and boiled. I couldn't drink it.

THey did have a cafe at the entrance and it was cheap and very good.

Singapore, Singapore | Oct 26, 2017 | Trip type: Couples

Stayed for 1N in a queen room located on the 15th floor. Room was small with basic amenities, and the air conditioner was not switched on - reason given by front desk was that the weather was getting cooler so the air con system for whole hotel was not switched on. As the room given faced the main road, it was rather noisy as the window cannot be closed to let in air for circulation. Hotel is within easy reach from Line 1 Zhangyuanfu station, with a short walk. Buffet breakfast is served from 6.30 am at 29 yuan a pax (if your room doesn't include breakfast). Food is simple but adequate an include brewed coffee. If what you need is just a room to sleep, a stay at Ibis is fine for the price paid.

  • Standard chain property but the staff have honesty issues.
    Jarko2015
Amsterdam, The Netherlands | Sep 23, 2017 | Trip type: Solo travel

Well located close to the Zhongfuyuan Station on Metro Blue Line 1, this standard, chain property offers modern comfort at a basic level. However, there's an issue with the staff and you may want to 1000000% verify your booking ahead of your arrival as the staff may well have a different story once you've checked in.

Part of the problem is that the English skills of the reception staff are very poor. The hotel manager does not speak any English at all. The lobby is clean, modern, fresh, with a cafe and a sitting area. There are two very slow elevators that take you to the very large floors, where the corridors seem to run endlessly. They may be undergoing a refurbishment, or they are just in terrible repair. Hard to tell. It looks like they are preparing the walls for paint, but equally, they may just be beaten up and in a bad state. The carpets are certainly very stained.

The rooms are standard IBIS, but are comfortable and there's space. The wooden furniture is in good shape and the bed is comfortable, with very clean linens. There's a flat screen TV and excellent free WIFI. The laminate floor is peeling a bit, but is otherwise clean. Slippers are provided.

The bathroom is spacious, with a big, walk in shower and excellent hot water pressure. There's a hair dryer as well as shower gel, soap and a toothbrush. Towels are OK. Clean enough, but not all that new.

The problem comes with breakfast. It was included in my rate, but when I went to eat, I was told it was not. When I checked in, I confirmed the pricing and the receptionist was indeed very confused. He first insisted I'd been over charged (I booked through Expedia) and that I should cancel the booking and rebook at the correct, lower rate. When I explained that wasn't possible, he took another look and confirmed he was mistaken and the reason I'd been charged a higher rate was for the breakfast. However, this story 'disappeared' along with this particular member of staff. They refused to give me breakfast included on any day. Conveniently, they understand English very well when it's in their favour but feign complete ignorance when it suits them. It left a very nasty impression. Honesty is everything in hotel staff and they were not honest with me at all. Additionally, despite the DO NOT DISTURB notice on my door, the maid simply let herself in one morning. I assume she can't read English?

All in all, this is a fine hotel in a fine location at a reasonable rate. However, the issue over paying for breakfast and not getting in has made me determined not to stay at an IBIS ever again.

  • Good Budget Hotel
    Brian B
Kaohsiung, Taiwan | Jun 13, 2017 | Trip type: Friends getaway

As expected with budget hotel, the rooms are small, and space is a premium and this is no different. It does offer some fascinating view out over the housing estates and the pidgeon keepers lofts on the roofs.
