Questions & Answers

I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Very good service and resort
Eindhoven, The Netherlands | Oct 19, 2015 | Trip type: Friends getaway

In summary, this is a very good resort with very friendly staff and good facilities as a resort. Prices of food at the different F&B are reasonable for the resort with quality.
Location: This is quite far from Sanya center and airport - both about 45-60 mins by taxi. The hotel does provide a shuttle to the airport and what I would say is more of a sub center of Sanya. [the real downtown of Sanya is closer to the Sanya High Speed train station]. Other than that, there is nothing else in the area - this area is really under development. For those arriving at the correct time, you can take the hotel shuttle bus - if not a taxi ride will set you back approx 150 RMB (meter based).
Check-in: Waited sometime before being able to check-in. However after that, everything was smooth.
Room: Was upgraded to a ocean view suite. A very beautiful room with a great balcony overlooking the hotel pools and South China Sea. The room had a large sitting area, bathroom which was with the open concept and a walk in wadrobe.
Coffee and tea making facility was available in the room. A very well appointed room with everything in working condition.
Breakfast: A very good spread of items - though it can be packed. There are different 'islands' with different items - western and eastern items. Even with the crowd, service is good and they are attentive in clearing plates, refilling food, etc.
Staff: All staff were very friendly and good. As expected in China, not all of them are well versed in English, and those that are, they remember you everytime and well come and help when they see you looking for something.
For Elite members, this is one of the better resorts that go above and beyond. They really do take care of Elite members which does help to remind you why you stick with the chain. I was very impressed with the team on this.
All in all, a very good resort and will certainly return despite the location. Just a warning - I will most probably avoid during high season when the place is packed - I think that will give a totally whole different view compared to what I had.

  • Excellent Swimming facilities, decent hotel, but very crowded buffet breakfast
Shanghai, China | Oct 13, 2015 | Trip type: Family

Our family stayed in 3 deluxe oceanview rooms during the October holiday 2015.
The hotel is very large, and has relatively clean and spacious rooms.
The highlight of the hotel is their 8000 meter pool and children's water park/slides that my family, and children loved. They also have a decent kids club where kids can take refuge if the weather isn't ideal.
Kudo's to Jek Tan, the executive chef, who was very friendly during our stay, and went the extra mile on his day off to make sure my nephew received a 'Avengers' cake for his birthday during our last night there. Also, Helen in Redstar cafe was very hospitable and greeted us there daily. For our tastes, we found the Chinese restaurant to be the best quality restaurant in the hotel. Making reservations for dinner ahead of time was important avoid lineups.
Some of the complaints that we had were that the buffet breakfast was extremely busy during our stay, and it was difficult to have a peaceful meal unless you went to dine at 8 AM or earlier. Also when we ordered room service for lunch one day, and asked for the dishes to be collected afterward later that afternoon, we were told to leave them outside our room. After placing them there, however, the dishes were still outside our door until next morning.

  • Business conference
    Steve G
    Sep 30, 2015 | Trip type: Business

We had approximately 60 people for a three day conference. The entire Renaissance team did a great job in accommodating all of our business needs (conference rooms, dietary requests, team building activities, and all special needs) as well as the personal needs. The resort was stunning and the accommodations were excellent. We would use them again for a future conference.

  • Relaxing Oceanfront Vacation in Sanya, Hainan China
    Sep 27, 2015 | Trip type: Couples

Experience was 5-stars and our room was awesome. We were upgraded to a Grand Bay Suite room due to my Platinum status with Marriott. This is a lovely, sprawling hotel with a pool that meanders throughout the property. Only complaint was that the pool is very shallow with only a couple of spots where the water was chest deep. Swim beach is nice with lifeguard and other services available, but no blue water here. Hotel is far from everywhere making it impracticle to "cab it" into Sanya or other towns(150 RMB roundtrip!!). Great if you want to have a relaxing vacation and stay on property, but you are limited to onsite restaurants and the restaurant that used to be right next door has been torn down. There are several small restaurants to the left as you walk toward the beach, about 15 minutes walk up the beach, but they are not the cleanest and there are a lot of flies - but food was good and much cheaper than hotel. Breakfast buffet was adequate, but nothing to write home about.
Was very satisfied with our room and the cleanliness and quality of the hotel and staff were helpful (I only rated 4 stars due to lack of services outside and near the hotel - being able to get away from the hotel and experience the local culture is very important to me when I go to China!!!).
Minnie greeted us when we arrived and treated us like royalty durng our stay there. The staff really takes time to makes sure you are enjoying your stay, especially if you are a high-level rewards member. I can't say enough about how well we were takien care of and the staff there, especially Minnie, who speaks fluent english.

  • Massive pool and nice beach
Hong Kong Region, China | Sep 11, 2015 | Trip type: Family

The swimming part was definitely the signature of the hotel! Beach was clean and staff was so nice. Special thanks to Water and Lancy for playing volleyball with us!
Room was spacious and clean. With ocean view it'd be nice to spend the lazy afternoon in the balcony.
However, restaurant for breakfast was overcrowded even it's so spacious. Food was not appealing either though with sufficient varieties.
Location-wise, just too remote from any other areas...... if you want to go to town it's not the choice. More to note, just don't go to the restaurant next to the hotel (10 mins walk from the beach)...... u'd rather spend more in the restaurants of the hotel.
