I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Excellent set-up, but seriously let down by minor details
    C C
London, United Kingdom | Jul 22, 2016 | Trip type: Family

Hotel only 5 mins on the taxi from the airport which makes it super convenient, especially traveling with our young child. When you come out of the airport taxi drivers will haggle pricing with you, but the actual fare was only 25RMB. We got the hotel to get us a taxi to take us to the airport, they got us a meter one and we paid $24RMB. When you check in they ask you for 1000RMB deposit which you can use to sign off food/drinks even restaurant bills. They give you back the reminder you didn't use at check out. There is construction around the hotel which makes the air quite dusty. We weren't affected by the noise, but be sure to ask.

    Pros:
-The hotel is absolutely massive, very clean, spacious and whilst there is no air conditioning in the lobby, there is always a light breeze blowing.
-Very nice swimming pools (5) with a nice lazy river going around, you can easily lie on your float and lazy around the pools. There are designated areas for swimmers which is good. There is good shade and plenty of sun loungers to choose from. For privacy there are some sun loungers set away in quieter areas for small families/couples.
-There are 'hidden' jacuzzis around the pool and plenty of open showers to rinse off.
-excellent outdoor playground for our child, you can easily stay in the pool and still have a clear view of the playground. There is also an indoor play room, but limited in toys and games and the staff there did not attempt to interact with our child but spent all their time on their phones.
-This was the feeling throughout. Serious staff training is needed. Lifeguards were often on their mobile phones. Restaurant staff weren't as attentive as they should be.
    - There is a supermarket opposite a KFC which is a 2 min walk from the hotel. We were able to bring in food and drink and eat at the pool. Towels and floats can be loaned from the pool bar.
-There is the beach 10mins walk with a private path from hotel to it without going through any traffic.
    -Plentiful breakfast 6-10am.
-We got a garden view room where a band was playing below every night. With small babies i wouldn't recommend these rooms, request a seaview room. But for us, it was quite nice to sit out in the balcony with wine and enjoy the music.

    Cons:
-Extremely poor wifi throughout the hotel despite signal showing full power. Even in the business centre, it took 5 mins to open up the web browser!
-Staff spoke very little English. Best to go prepared with notes and get it translated in Putonghua beforehand. There was one receptionist Nancy Lin who spoke some English.
-The bathroom only had a blind that did not offer any privacy. You can close the shower blind to allow you some visual privacy when you're on the toilet. But nothing can be done for sounds or smells.
-Very poor pool bar. Only Tsing Tao, cola, sprite and water in the fridges. The milkshake i ordered off the menu was melted vanilla ice-cream with a cherry on top. (this came from the lobby bar i'm sure as the pool bar is empty apart from the above choices).
-Poor air conditioning in the bedrooms. And there is a charge for the bottles of water??!
-The restaurants didn't offer good food. It is the same western menu throughout which we didn't attempt. The Chinese restaurant where breakfast is served is open throughout the day and the noodles and rice wasn't bad.
-Breakfast was plentiful and of a vast choice for the locals. Long duration 6-10am. But for the international customers; bacon was a poor quality and fatty, only 1 choice of eggs (fried) which was mass produced and set out. Sausages were of a poor quality. There were flies over the food and no covers. There was a very good children area where there was 'miniature' food set out for them and tables and chairs. But the 'snow white' impersonator did not smile once or interact with the children. And for some stupid reason, there were burners and candles which my child kept wanting to play with.

In China hotels are known to last 20 years before they burn out. This hotel was only built 8 years ago, but already the tiles at the pool needed re-tiling badly, the trees roots were pushing them out. It will be sad to see this hotel go downhill as it is a really good set up. But they need to keep up with the maintenance and attend to the minor details such as the wifi, a wall in the bathroom!!! organize a bus shuttle from the airport (only 5mins away so not difficult, ask the snow white impersonator to smile at the kids or offer balloons, get menu's in so we wouldn't have needed to bring KFC into the pool to eat, a better equipped pool bar etc. These small minor changes will be needed to push this hotel to the next level.

Conclusion: China 5* hotel, but internationally 3*.

  • Excellent structure poor staff skills

This resort has an outstanding setup. The 50m long swimming pool along with the two smaller ones in the middle.of the tree shade are probably.among the best you can find in many places. The green areas maintenance is top level. Rooms nice and quite big
Air conditioning was poor and the ceiling fan could partially get some comfort.
The checkout at 5.00 am was really disappointing. Staff not properly trained with a very poor english made the procedure 30 min long!!
In general staff English language was not acceptable for this kind of structure especially if the people.at the reception cannot understand what you are talking about.
In addition the staff attitude at the reception was really hopeless as we clearly stated our needs and we could clear the position thanks to our Chinese friends thay were staying with us at the resort.
Instead the staff (Indian origin look) at the breakfast lounge was really friendly and helpful

Try to get sea view rooms, they have better view and quiet at night. Two bedroom apartments good enough for the family with two kids, clean and comfortable. Cleaning is done every day on demand. Towels, bathrobes, sleepers, toiletries all provided. Swimming pools are clean, but sea side beach is open to public, it is very dirty and smells really bad. Seawater by the beach is also dirty, and non hygienic, avoid if possible. There are four restaurants within the grounds: Chinese, Korean, Barbecue and mixed Oriental &European, average quality but expensive. There is also restaurant by the beach with variety of Chinese and Barbecue food. There is a street market for fruits and Up-Market supermarket for groceries across the street from Hotel. For 50 yuan you can reach Dadunhai central part of Sanya for restaurants and Summer shoping mall.

  • 5 Star Hotel But Very Dirty
    pangkheesuan
Petaling Jaya, Malaysia | Jun 16, 2015 | Trip type: Family

The hotel is just huge. Walking from one end to the other just takes long time. That is what happened to us. Our room is at the end of West wing and the breakfast is at the end of East wing. Imagine walking more than 10 minutes to the breakfast area alone. And we were with my elderly parents. The wonderful breakfast spread did little to make up for it. The toilets cleanliness is just not 5 star. If this is a 3 star hotel, I will accept it. Water will flood your toilet when you shower as the shower screen is not water tight. After every shower, the toilet will flood and that's when you can see if the toilet is clean or not. However they have nice beaches even though it is not directly in front of the hotel. There is still a 5 minutes walk to it. Appreciate that they have a wheelchair to borrow but you still need to put deposit even though the reception already requested for a deposit when you checked in. Will not stay at this hotel again.

Shanghai, Shanghai, China | May 30, 2015 | Trip type: Friends getaway

This hotel markets itself as luxurious yet the hotel fell short of such the 5-star rating it claims to have. The rooms itself are fine but there is a weird curtain separation to the bathroom that offers no privacy. The problem is the quality of the hotel's amenities. The pool seems a little dirty and dated and the underground passage to the beach is too dark. The beach itself is also quite dirty however this part of Sanya isn't particularly known for its beautiful beach. The breakfast choice is quite limited and the waitstaff seem quite apathetic to the needs of their customers. I think this is a promising hotel but needs a reality check to really propel itself forward.
