Questions & Answers

I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Comfortable hotel in good location

There is not much wrong with this hotel. It is in a good central location (close to a subway stop) and within easy walking distance of The Bund. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly. The wi-fi was a bit hit-and-miss, but I had that trouble in all of my hotels in China. I would happily return there.

Last minute booking online from and i wasnt disappointed.
Very well presented hotel, clean rooms and friendly staff that all speak english which is nice for a change as other hotels i have stayed at do not have any english speaking staff!
The hotel offers exceptional value for money which is why i decided to stay here and also offers a great central location within walking distance to Yuyuan Garden Metro which has access to both Shanghai Airports.
I also agree with another comment about the shower being dirty, this was also the case with my bathroom and hope that by next time it is recified as it is not pleasant to shower in such conditions.
Overall excellent stay and i will be there again next time i visit Shanghai.

  • A real gem in the middle of Shanghai
Burgenstock, Switzerland | Oct 26, 2015 | Trip type: Couples

First of all, is not on or close to the Bund as the name here suggests but a 20 minutes walk to the South point of promenade but It is very close to Yu Garden as it's name sometimes shows on some other websites, it is 5 minutes walk from the huge Yu Garden shopping/temple/restaurant complex and 2 minutes from the Yu Garden metro no. 10 stop. In addition it sits right at the entrance to Renmin Road tunnel to Pu Dong that makes it easy to crosse river to Pu Dong side for the TV tower or the new Financial center building.
From the outside the hotel seems to be just another tourist 3 star hotel but once inside you will find a most charming and cozzy hotel. The rooms are generous size, bathroom huge with two sinks, bedroom is fitted with a four posted queen size bed and a lovely Chinese style sitting area/sofa. In the morning breakfast is served on the 4th floor garden restaurant with a large terrace seating area. The breakfast choice is ample in both Asian and Western style, good coffee (there is also an espresso machine in the room, and free mini bar stocked with basic items.
Even though the hotel is on a busy street we didn't have much problem with the street noise maybe because our room was on 12th floor and faced back side.
All in all, we loved the hotel, location, service, room are all above expectation and for its value. It should really deserve a 4 star rating not 3. We would come back and recommend it highly.

  • Still the best Shanghai option!
Portland, Oregon | Oct 25, 2015 | Trip type: Business

I’ve stayed many times at the Narada/SSAW hotel in Shanghai, and it is like a breath of fresh air in terms of Chinese hotels!
Niels manages a superior hotel. The staff is attentive, the hotel is clean and all the little details you hope for are there. And this is one hotel that does not have “Chinese beds”! The Narada beds are sublime. Check-in is always congenial and swift (not common in China).
Rooms are nicely decorated and in top condition. Most have great views of the city.
Food service has not been overlooked, either. The breakfast buffet is of high quality and extensive. Made-to-order eggs, a variety of “Western” and Chinese foods, melon, juices and a wide selection of breads and pastries. The outer terrace is open for breakfast and is a great place to sit and enjoy the morning and your breakfast. They play classical or soft Chinese music, bird cages with exotic birds chirp and chortle are around and it just couldn’t be any better. THIS is the way to start a day in Shanghai or your visit to China.
Dinner can be had indoors or out on the terrace where you can enjoy the lights of the city. And the food, whether Western or Chinese is always top notch.
The hotel staff is very accommodating and are willing to arrange a late check-out and/or to hold your luggage while you are off exploring.
Maybe best of all, when checking out, you are not subjected to waiting while the staff takes inventory of the items in your room.
I can’t recommend the Shanghai Narada Boutique Hotel enough!

We stayed here 6 nights and loved our experience. The staff were all friendly, helpful and spoke fluent English. Breakfast was full of options to cater for everyone. I would definitely come back as the hotel is conveniently situated next to the train station and a short stroll to the Yu Yuan garden.
