I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Second time lucky!
    Erik K
    Oct 12, 2015 | Trip type: Couples

Stayed for the second time after the Chinese New Year at the Pullman hotel and wasn't disappointment. Actually our stay was even better then the first. We stayed in the Ruby suite on recommendation of Christina who arranged my complete reservation. The room was massive but only downside is the furniture. It isn't my cup of tea but maybe for some other people it is. The bed was soft, the bathroom spacious but only weird thing is, that it wasn't possible to close the blinds in the bathroom. It's cool to watch the skyline from the 52nd floor but sometimes you wonder if somebody can't look in from another tower or from the street. Upon checking from street level you could look a bit inside so I imagine that from another tower you could watch inside. Some blinds like in the normal rooms bathroom, would be advised. Roomservice was very polite and came to clean the room twice a day. The breakfast bar (except the Executive breakfast) isn't on the 49th floor anymore, but that's for the better. The breakfast quality has massively increased over the last time. The executive lounge has changed their volume of food and drinks. For the food this is a good thing, because the food got thrown away if it wasn't eaten, but there aren't as many liquors available as last year anymore which is a shame. Good to see that upon Checking and Check-out some of the staff from last year was still around and recognized us.
One tip. The staff at the Swimmingpool and Gym can't speak English so it was a bit difficult to make myself understandable because I didn't understand the lockers (last time there was a manual how to operate them but this time it wasn't there) so my belongings were laying in an open locker. The Swimming pool facilities are okay and the gym is small but sufficient because it isn't busy.
All in all a step up in terms of quality from last year.
If I can arrange my stay for next year through Christina I would do it again.

  • Friendly Service In Charming Area
Hong Kong, China | Sep 29, 2015 | Trip type: Couples

This hotel is not for those who haven't travelled to Shanghai before or who don't speak Chinese, since its location is a bit out of the way from the standard 'Bund' and Jing'an touristy districts. As well, this is an older premium hotel, but it has its charm and appeal.
The rooms are much larger than other newer hotels, and it seems less busy. Our room was quiet with a clean and comfortable bathroom. Didn't want to get out of the bed. The staff were friendly and accommodating, quick to reply and help out. The breakfast had a wide fresh variety of local and western, but you could have a nice leisurely meal without feeling rushed.
Having lived by the hotel before moving away from Shanghai, there is Tian Zi Fang, Karaoke places in the mall across the street, and amazing hot pot downstairs.

  • Good room but experience marred by lack of power points by the bedside
    Singapore | Sep 28, 2015 | Trip type: Business

This would be my third stay at Pullman Shanghai Skyway and my experience have always been good but not great. The only reason for my return would be the location where restaurants are plentiful at the mall across the street where the subway station is located and also the mall next to the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel is good with adequate choices and attentive service by the staff although sometimes a little too attentive. I had my table cleared twice when I left the table for a couple of minutes to get more food. I guess this is one of the inconvenience that a lone diner must live with. The dinner however was a total letdown after the enticing details of a sumptuous seafood buffet dinner widely advertised around the hotel. For RMB218,it was totally not worth it, I paid RMB178 as a Le Club member and I myself regretted not going out for my dinner. Imagine being limited to 4 prawns at the grill station and told to come back again later and rejoin the queue! The limit of two pieces of two different seafood or meat per person and these were small pieces. I chose to have four prawns and was told that I had hit my quota, incredible! There wasn't even a long line at the grill station. At the station where they had special at scheduled time with "Buddha jump over the wall" , Baked lobster in cheese and Groupa, it was more ridiculous. Guests had to line up and each portion was prepared one at a time over a portable gas stove and the portions were miserably small. I just find all these to be a way for the management to slow things down minimize consumption of the more expensive items. For RMB218 per person, got a nice restaurant outside the hotel and you would have a nice feast! At breakfast, I also overheard another guest who was telling his friend that apart from breakfast which was included in the room price, he never eat or drink at the hotel. So I am not the only person who feel this way.
As a Le Club Platinum member, I was entitled to use the Premier Lounge at the 52 floor but I only went there once for a coffee. The lounge looks nice but at the same time does not feel welcoming at all unlike premier lounge at the Grand Mercure or the Novotel lounge in Bangkok which had warm and welcoming staff.
My biggest problem would be the lack of power points by the bedside. There was none on both sides of the bed and I had to unplug the bedside clock in order to use that power point. In this edge of internet connectivity age, power points are essential.

  • Good location, good value, rooms smelled
Perth, Australia | Sep 26, 2015 | Trip type: Couples

For value for money you cannot go wrong with this hotel. At the time that I stayed in this hotel in 2014, the cost per night was 637 CNY per night including breakfast.
Grand Central Hotel was ranked higher than this hotel at the time I was staying, however in terms of service and hospitality, the Pullman Skyway was better. By the time I publish this review, the rooms will have also been updated.
Only downside is the musky smell inside the rooms and the smoke that was present even in the non-smoking rooms. Overall, if I was staying in Shanghai for a period of longer than 2 weeks, I would absolutely consider staying here again. Price/quality ratio is very high. High enough to make me give it a 4 star.
