I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Wonderful hotel in Shanghai with amazing executive club lounge

Have stayed here many times for my business and the hotel just keeps getting better every time. The management and staff are so professional and always go out of their way to make it a wonderful experience! Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Shanghai
Love this hotel. Excellent location, spacious rooms with the most outstanding Executive Club Lounge I have ever experienced! The evening drinks and supper with the most gorgeous view of Shanghai is an incredible experience. Thank you Florian and Christina for your outstanding service and making us feel so special!

  • Meticulous care across all staff

My family of 7 and myself booked ourselves into three studio rooms with lounge access, which was great in hindsight as we missed lunch coming into Shanghai courtesy of an extended traffic jam. Three of my young kids travelled with me. And so the group had seniors and very much...juniors. This also means that our needs are all different - but they were all met with exceeding expectations.

Check-in: We were thankful for the smooth and seamless check-in on the 52nd floor. The executive lounge used to be the former Presidential Suite decked out in over-the-top Fendi home fittings. But it did provide for a home feel with a 270 degree view of the Shanghai skyline. The lounge provides breakfast, tea and a social 'happy hour' time for drinks and food - which was absolutely delicious. The blueberry almond pie, the selection of chinese teas, the daily switch between salmon, peking duck and roasted pork along with beef cheeks, shrimp risotto and so on was just amazing. Illy coffee was served here, unlike at the Ginger Cafe at B1 where a local coffee blend was served. I also entertained a guest in the evening here but since it was after 8pm, we had tea and soft drinks. Wines on offer were reds from Chile and France (which went beautifully with the pork and beef), and whites were from Italy.

Rooms: Room deco and fittings were a little dated but they were sizeable with a section for the bed and the other for a living area. My room had the unfortunate stench of cigarette smoke, a common occurrence even on non-smoking floors in China. This was quickly resolved with some strange machine that sucked the smell out of the room and topped off with an air purifier. Our room attendant was this ever earnest lady who made it a point to help us in any way we she could.

Location: Centrally located with the 日月光 (ri yue guang) mall a short walk away. Lots of food options ranging from a 24hr Hai Di Lao hotpot place and Bi Feng Tang Hong Kong Styled cafe that closes at 5am. The Da Pu Qiao subway station can be accessed by the Ri Yue Guang mall. Two to Three Foot reflexology outlets are also within a 400m walk from the hotel. Tian Zi Fang is just behind the mall - perfect.
The down side is that since this is such a well placed hotel, it can get crowded at times. Do look out for swerving e-bikes and cars with bicycles to throw in, very much a Chinese experience that one must go through.

Fitness: A very well maintained and private swimming pool in a circular shape is available - although I did not take a dip there. A sauna and steam room are also available. The gym is decently equipped with 3 treadmills and lots of free weights. There is also a smith machine (barbell rack with guides) and an area for yoga and stretching. The nice touch is that water from the dispensing container has lemon slices in it.

Breakfast: At B1, breakfast at the Ginger Cafe can overwhelm the unprepared with a myriad of food - hot chinese, hot western, a crepes and breads section, a noodles section, juices, chinese pan fried section, congee, eggs section. salad cold cuts and cheese. Coffee, as I mentioned was better in the lounge. Breads were good. Bottled juices poured into the carafes were fine. It was the freshly squeezed fruit and veggie ones that tasted a very diluted. Strange.

Concierge: I have to say that the concierge staff were some of the best I have ever seen. Elton helped us with the booking of the ERA circus tickets and Ray helped us resolve a transportation issue. They were both knowledgeable, effective and professional - something I really appreciated. We had also tailored suits and shirts and had them delivered to the concierge - something they also took note of during the changing of shift.

Kids: The kids loved access to the executive lounge. I made it a point to ensure their noise level was kept to a minimum. But what was unexpected was the trampoline and slide with ball pit at B1. The kids went riot there. Enough said.

Airport transfer: There are a ton of options. I decided on the Ego Bus (recommended by the hotel) which had 2 options. 80 RMB per person on the shuttle or 340 RMB to book the whole bus for the family. The price fluctuates based on the cost of petrol (Huh?). Last I heard, the price increased to 400 RMB after I left.

The bus driver was late. 15 mins late. That is suicide for an airport transfer with an advanced booking. No warning or prior notification from the company on its delay.

When he appeared, he looked dazed. Was he high on drugs? I don't think so. But he did not have a sense of urgency. When I became assertive, things moved. Ray was highly apologetic. My last words to him was that Ego Bus company should not continue servicing Pullman Skyway.

In the bus, the driver had a nasty habit of stepping on the accelerator and then releasing it ever so often. This caused the really big and heavy (plush though) bus to jerk consistently. I had to tell him to stop doing that before he broke the habit.

We got to the airport in 1 piece and thankfully, ahead of time.

Conclusion: I would like to commend the senior management staff such as Vincent, Florian and Executive Chef Marko. I seldom see senior staff so in touch with guests on the ground, but there they were daily, ensuring that guests were well taken cared for.

This hotel is primarily for the business traveller. For families, it will work well too. It's central location with access to food and shopping is a plus. Downsides are the hustle and bustle of the area and the countless opportunities to get run down by delivery riders and cyclists alike.

I have to add that I speak mandarin fluently. This helped in communication immensely. Using the DiDi app (China's Uber) in English saved us a lot of time and money and it was transparent in its pricing. All in all, Pullman Skyway helped give my family one of the best holidays they ever had.

We stayed for 5 nights at the Pullman Skyway Shanghai. We were two adults and two kids. From Checkin to Checkout everything was perfect. Very polite and helpful staff. Breakfast spread was great. Location was nice, next to metro station, market place.
We will definitely come back when we are again in Shanghai.

  • Good Hotel, Just a Bit Worn
    asiatravelppl
Los Angeles, California | Jun 12, 2018 | Trip type: Couples

We stayed here over the weekend. Check in/out was seamless. The room was spacious and nice. The bathroom great and clean sheets etc. Carpet was stained and had a little mold smell.
The location might be good in that it's a bit easier to get in and out from the airport when traffic is bad downtown. But I did not like how they advertised it as being "near XinTianDi". We wanted to be walking distance in that area because taxis are not good at night. I would consider 2km not "near" or normal walking distance and borderline false advertising. It is pretty close to TianZiFang though.

  • Great location at reasonable price

My second stay at the hotel did not disappoint. Friendly staff who go out of their way to please. Great breakfast and close to major shopping centres and restaurants. This is my second stay and will definitely stay there on my next trip.
