Excellent facilities for holding conferences
70DelmartianHessle | Sep 19, 2015 | Trip type: Business
Rooms large and modern with free Wi fi. Hotel is about 90 min drive from international Pu Dong airport. Nice grounds for walking outside busy Shanghai and good health club. Locals use hotel for weekend breaks especially with kids as there is a lot to entertain them. Restaurant facilities range from coffee/snack area to buffet feast for breakfast, lunch and evening meals. Very good Chinese restaurant on top floor. I was there for a large conference and facilities excellent including large area for stage and huge LED screens. Catering for over 250 attendees was no problem and conference banquet was very high quality. Stayed here 3 times and quality of stay never changes
Just what I needed.

This is my third time staying there this summer, and it was the best of the three. The outdoor pools were the best I have ever used, and sitting poolside was just as great. The indoor whirlpool was set perfectly, finally. The last two times it was too hot. The sauna is a great place to dry. My girls also loved playing in the sand. Dinner, and especially beverages are overpriced, but I love the Indian food. The rooms are the best! And even with all the swimming, the bathtub is so inviting and the beds are incredibly comfortable. I also love the breakfast buffet.
Great Hardware But Service Needs a Lot of Work
tom_handsHong Kong | Sep 10, 2015 | Trip type: Business
Spent a night here again for our annual work retreat. Both times I have been here have been midweek in September, and the place seems like a ghost town, save for a few corporate off site events going on (there was a big one again here this time).
The hotel is well put together, and the rooms and other facilities are clean, comfortable and of a 5 star hotel standard. The rooms are really nice, the bed very comfortable as they always are at SPG properties.
From a service standard point of view, however, there are a lot of issues here. Despite clearly low occupancy (ghost town!!), my colleagues were unable to get a room when they arrived at 11:30am. The breakfast is huge in choice but really quite awful in terms of food quality and presentation. Room service (which we ordered 3 times) was of an equally low standard food-wise and took 45-60 minutes to deliver each time, even just for coffee. My room fridge had literally nothing in it!
The staff across the board (front desk, gym/pool, F&B) seemed bored. The guy at the pool even sent us back to the main building to get towels because that "wasn't his job". Says it all really about service standards here.
Location and surrounds (as well as the rooms) are great, but there's just no atmosphere at this hotel and the staff are clearly uninterested.
classy hotel and very good service

had another stay at this place and my experiences have been excellent. they upgrade my room to a 15 room which was stunning and big. nice coffee machine, flowing hot water as a kettle, little kitchen. the cleaning staff are some of the best I've encountered. polite, happy, helpful, quick. the buffet for platinum members on 44th floor is always elaborate and excellent. really impressed by most things. only draw back was room linen was damp. don't think air con really works either
Nice retreat from Shanghai
BehappyeachdaySingapore, Singapore | Jul 10, 2015 | Trip type: Family
This is a nice hotel away from the hustle and bustle of Shanghai good for a weekend break. They have nice gardens and a pond with steps you can walk across which is quite unique. The Dim Sum is pretty nice and overall, it has a nice peaceful feel to it. Service is quite good.
