Very nice hotel! Highly recommend.
adsa83Cairns, Australia | Oct 4, 2015 | Trip type: Business
I stayed here for a week for work. I was in an Executive Room and the view was amazing of the river and lights and yellow crane tower. Executive Lounge was very nice with even better views. Good food choice and nice cold beer on ice.
The hotel looks dated from the outside but its great! Breakfast is amazing! There is a beautiful walking track along the river the seems to go for miles! The gym was small but still had good equipment, but get outside and run in the park lined with statues and monuments right next door.
Room service was good, be careful is speaking English as staff dont always understand via telephone.
I went to the Irish Bar, Toucan, for a few beers. Nice little bar, not much atmosphere but good priced beers and sports on TV.
Rooms very very nice and comfortable. Everything you need. Just be careful of the air conditioning, seems to not work often.
Overall a great hotel, wonderful location and amazing views of the ships passing by
Relaxing and wonderful stay
vagabond09Seattle, Washington | Sep 13, 2015 | Trip type: Friends getaway
I stayed in the club level with a room overlooking the Yangtze River and it was very comfortable. The room's furniture was a little dated but clean with modern amenities. I could have sat and watched the transport ships travel up and down the Yangtze for hours as it is a relaxing and tranquil view from the room but I wanted to get outside. There is the Wuhan Dayu Cultural Museum within a short walk that is very interesting with great photo opportunities. There is a walking path along the Yangtze that has interesting statues with bits of Chinese lore. You can walk along the Yangtze to where it meets the Hanshui River or the other direction to the Changjiang Bridge. There are people all along this walk fishing, exercising or taking in the views. The food in the breakfast buffet was outstanding and I strongly recommend the local noodle dish called re gan mian (hot and dry noodles) that are made from sesame seed paste that are now one of my top five noodle dishes. The rest of the buffet has both western and Chinese dishes but eat the Chinese food. it is great. The only negative here was the steak at the restaurant. My travel partners wanted to eat Western and it was not very good.
Good stay in a dated hotel but nicely located
BritinChina1963Zhengzhou, China | Aug 5, 2015 | Trip type: Friends getaway
Stayed 2 nights on executive floor with suite.
The hotel is showing its age im afraid and is getting ready for a make over.
The lifts takes nearly one minute to get to the 20th floor. Not complaining just emphasising its age.
Rooms are small for a suite and lounge furniture is out of date but serve their purpose.
Lovely powerful shower but drain cannot cope with all the water so overflows
Room has 2 toilets.
Bed is comfortable.
View from lounge and bedroom both of the city and river which was nice.
Air conditioning system in the lounge was not the best and bed room still was hot even at night and when on high speed it was noisy.
The executive lounge also showed its age with dated furniture.
Happy hour betweem 6 and 8pm was ok with different snacky foods each night.
Breakfast is ok. The room is also aging with paint work dropping of on most windows.
Staff in both the executive lounge and reception were most helpful and polite. They do their best with what they have to work with.
Its location is perfect for local places to visit. Bus stops are very close to hotel.
Yes I would stay again just wish it would have some attention made to it

if it is you first visit to Wuhan, and you are keen to see the major sights of the city. Holiday inn Riverside is well positioned , and is an excellent base for you to explore the city It is beside the Yangtze River, and if you have a riverside room, you have an unobstructed view of the Yangtze Bridge and the Yellow Crane Tower. Beside the hotel is Chung Chuen Pavillion (晴川閣) and Diayu Myth Park (大禹神話園), both entrance are free, and offer stunning view of the river yet offer 2 completely experience.
The hotel itself is dated and old, but it is clean and well organized. The service is excellent. Danny, the assistant Manager, speak good English and look after us very well. The front desk manager Tina is helpful and knowledgeable, In the Exertive floor, they offer great breakfasts and happy hours snack, and I need to recommend Vicky, who is attentive, friendly and always eager to help.
I have a great time staying here.
