I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Not up to the usual Ibis standard

I quite often stay at Ibis hotels, both in China and around the world. This hotel is not up to the usual Ibis standard. Room was small, with no writing desk or shelves. There was a space only for one queen size bed (a comfortable one, though) and one small night stand. The bed was even pushed all the way to the wall on one side. But it was clean and cheap, as I grabbed a promo deal at approx. 200 yuan/night.
Wifi was terribly slow, even for China, and I was located just above the reception. I don’t want to imagine how it is on the upper floors. And it kept disconnecting every now and then.
What was really great was the location. It is just few steps away from the main railway station in Xiamen. As I arrived to Xiamen North station and departed 2 days later from main Xiamen station, I wanted to stay somewhere close and this is a great choice. It is easy to get to the hotel from Xiamen North, straight on BRT1 in 45min. If you want to go to the Dongdu ferry terminal for Gulangyu, then it is bus number 26 just across the street from the hotel. It will take you there in 20min. Close to the hotel there are two big shopping malls (with Tesco and Walmart stores inside) + many other shops and eateries.

  • Perfectly OK, basic property

Amsterdam, The Netherlands | Nov 6, 2017 | Trip type: Solo travel

If you're familiar with IBIS hotels, you won't find anything out of the ordinary about this particular property. It's got all the standard, basic IBIS features. If you're not, then you'll find a clean(ish), inexpensive, comfortable property with few frills in central Xiamen.

The hotel is a stone's throw from the central railway station and an easy walk from the station. However, it's a long trek from either the airport or the North Railway Station, both of which will take you over an hour on public transport, although the 950 bus connects the hotel & the North station virtually door-to-door. The hotel is located on the very, very busy main road that cuts through the centre of Xiamen and crossing it is not easy. You can only do it by a few subway paths close to the station or by elevated walkways which are placed about every quarter of a mile. If you've got luggage etc and end up on the wrong side of the road, you won't find it easy to cross at all.

The hotel staff have virtually no English skills at all, so have your translator app handy. The reception is small, but there is a comfortable seating area and a small cafe, where breakfast is served. However, this is always an additional cost and is not included in the rates.

There's only one elevator to the sleeping rooms, with some actually on the ground floor behind reception. I'm sure they must be noisy. The elevator is very slow. I saw three different rooms as the first had a broken window that would not shut; the second was a smoking room and the third was where I ended up on the 7th floor. The corridors really need vacuuming and clearly are not cleaned every day. In fact, they weren't vacuumed at all during my three nights.

The room is the basic IBIS offering, with comfortable beds, clean linens, kettle, tea, water and flat screen TV. The free WIFI is very reliable. However, there was a mild stench of sewage in the bathroom which was not pleasant. Otherwise, the rooms are clean enough. The towels were getting old and were a little stained.

The location is great for the station, but not much else. You'll be busing or taking taxis to what Xiamen has to see. There are a LOT of fast food and shopping malls close to the hotel if you want to shop and eat McDonalds, but not much in the way of good local food. The hotel has self service laundry.

IBIS always offer good rates for basic comfort and although this property could do with some spit and polish, it's a perfectly good option.

Cheapest hotel one can get around Xiamen Station area. 5 minutes walking distance to Xiamen Station and nearest BRT station. Lots of food stalls around this area, as well as malls.
I stayed in a room facing main road which is very noisy with the continuous sound of traffic. May be a room on the rear side of the hotel is quieter. Wifi is also available in the room.

  • Very cheap, but noisy

Very well located, rooms are decorated according to Ibis standard, but old, and not very clean.
    A
It is in a commercial street and the rooms are poorly isolated.
Breakfast is disgusting in taste and very poor in choice, better avoid it and have breskfast in the surrounding cafès or restaurants.

  • Need some level of refurbishment

Located near the Xiamen train station, and BRT station (with 5 minutes walk), the hotel offer a good connection to other cities and nearby. But one of the disadvantage is that I cannot locate any convenience store nearby.
The staff is ok, but for the room, I think they need some level of refurbishment. I tried a number of ibis hotel around the world (Europe and Singapore), but I've to admit that I have to lower my expectation a bit when compare with my previous experience. The wall is dirty and the glass panel door of shower inside toilet cannot be close. The fire sprinkler cover drop from the ceiling on my head when I first open the room door. The drainage in the toilet cause some strength noise all the time, which cause me hard to sleep.
