Average room with rude staff
306georginaaJan 5, 2019
Stayed here during Golden week which is obviously a very busy time during Xi’an. When we entered the hotel the staff were extremely rude and very unhelpful. The room was clean and comfy but average. The location isn’t the best, it’s not near a metro so we either had to mo bike or DiDi into the city centre. However a definite pro is that the nightly rate is quite low.
CultureShockKidBaoding, China | Oct 5, 2017 | Trip type: Couples
I actually really enjoyed our stay, but some things did knock it down to a 3/5:
Clean, comfortable room
Easy late check in
Live music in lobby sometimes
Close to decent food
Surprisingly not crazy for Golden Week
Pretty solid wifi
Lost water for over an hour which did affect our plans a little
Original calls to confirm our reservation and ask for a late check in were very challenging
I don't think the location was great for sightseeing
All that said, I would still recommend it.
LarsmaticNew Brighton, Minnesota | Apr 15, 2017 | Trip type: Family
The hotel was clean and in good shape. The staff I dealt were courteous and could speak fair English. The room was nice, the beds were comfortable.
The location was central. It was about a 1.5 mile walk to the walled city. If you are in town a short time, you may want to be closer.
A great breakfast with many local and western choices was included in the price of the room as were bottles of water.
So much better than expected!
robyn hBangkok, Thailand | Feb 22, 2017 | Trip type: Family
We travelled with two adults and three children and booked the room on points. The room was great, two bedrooms with king/queen beds, two bathrooms and kitchenette in the living area. That certainly made for a comfortable night for all, with plenty of room to move! There was also a washer/dryer so we could have clean clothes! There is a tv in the main bathroom, although the bath is small, it was lovely to relax in the bath and watch tv! The heating is good, although we couldn't make it cool for night, so we just opened the windows. There was breakfast included in the room rate for two people, not much to report there-very Chinese! There is a local supermarket a block away. Staff were friendly and helpful although with not much English
Excellent base for extensive touring in Xi'an
camelSPLos Angeles area | Feb 4, 2017 | Trip type: Couples
The room was very comfortable, with a microwave, little fridge and dishes. The staff was very helpful, although some spoke better English than others. It is directly next to a large Vanguard supermarket. Above the supermarket is an excellent restaurant (5th floor?) that we ate at several times (True Love Fan Texi 真爱范特西). The restaurant is very posh, but reasonable prices, and they are very accommodating to English speakers. Tip--if you need to cross Xingqing Rd (the street the hotel is on), there is a bridge that runs from one side of the University to the other that keeps you out of traffic. This hotel is not a place to stay if you won't ride public buses and take the metro--we depended on the staff and our Google GPS Navigation app on our smartphone to know the bus schedules (you need to have a VPN on your smartphone to get to Google). It takes about 20 minutes by bus to get to the center of the city. We had trouble getting taxis to the hotel, so, if you find a taxi driver through the hotel or otherwise, WeChat with that person so that you can use him/her at other times. We found an excellent woman taxi driver that way, who didn't speak much English, but knew enough, and could get help from friends via her phone. There is also a traditional lamb/bread stew restaurant within a quarter mile, on Xianning W. Road. The hotel included a free breakfast buffet for half our days, as part of our booking.com booking. It is ample and has healthy American and Chinese options, if you choose carefully but gets repetitious.
