What You Can Expect

  • Day 1 Arrive in Beijing

    You'll be met on arrival at Beijing airport. You will have free time for the rest of the day to explore the nearby streets or rest. Beijing is a city of amazing contrasts – an ancient capital with incredible historical sites, and a bustling modern metropolis that hosted the 2008 Olympics.

  • Day 2 Beijing
    • Breakfast

      After breakfast the tour heads for Tian'anmen Square, the world's largest public square, which is closely linked to The Forbidden City, from which the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties governed for over 500 years.

    • Temple of Heaven

      Later you'll visit the Temple of Heaven, where the Emperors prayed for good harvests and rain. You'll also get to visit an old Beijing handicraft workshop.

    • Night Life

      In the evening, you can enjoy watching a splendid show of Shaolin Kungfu or Acrobatics on your own expense, or enjoy nightlife in pubs & bars around the Houhai Lake.

  • Day 3 Beijing
    • Breakfast

    • Badaling Great Wall

      The tour leaves for The Great Wall at Badaling, which stretches for over 6000km, and was originally built to protect China from the barbarians. You can walk and climb the wall at your own pace.

    • Olympic Park

      In the afternoon you can visit the 2008 Beijing Olympic Park and Olympic village, which was opened to the public from October 2008. The tour will walk through the Olympic Park and have a glimpse of the Olympic stadiums, such as The Bird's Nest, National Stadium, and Water Cube.

    • Summer Palace

      Finally visit the Summer Palace, the most beautiful imperial garden in China. You can have a boat ride on the lake, which is a best way to enjoy the beautiful view.

  • Day 4 Beijing to Xi'an
    • Free Time

      You will be free in the morning

    • Fly to Xi'an

      Then you will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight to Xi'an - one of the oldest cities in China.

    • Shanxi Historical Museum

      On arrival, the tour will visit one of the best museums in China, the Shaanxi Historical Museum. Among the 400,000 items on display are treasures from many Dynasties including magnificent bronzes and porcelain vases, many of which have never been on permanent display before.

  • Day 5 Xi'an
    • Terracotta Warriors and Horses

      In the morning the tour visits the famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses, which are part of the underground tomb of the Emperor Qin. Well over 7000 figures in full battle array are formed for battle in several large pits.

    • Bell Tower

      In the afternoon the tour moves to the Bell Tower where you can get a bird's view of Xi'an.

    • Big Wild Goose Pagoda

      You will continue to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, where widely renowned Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his collection of classic Buddhist artifacts brought from India.

  • Day 6 Xi'an to Shanghai
    • Fly to Shanghai

      In the morning you will fly direct to Shanghai.

    • Shanghai Museum

      On arrival the tour visits the Shanghai Museum, which possesses a collection of 120,000 precious works of art.

    • The Bund

      The tour then travels along the Bund - the old colonial sector - which is home to a myriad of European-styled buildings that face the Huangpu River.

  • Day 7 Shanghai
    • Jade Buddha Temple

    • Yuyuan Garden

    • Oriental Pearl TV Tower

      Visit the famous Oriental Pearl TV Tower (also known as the Pearl Tower, for its distinctive shape). The second-highest platform provides wonderful views over Shanghai and the Huang Pu River, and those with a good head for heights can choose to buy a ticket to continue on to the very top.

  • Day 8 Depart from Shanghai

    During day 8 you have free time to explore Shanghi on your own, until you are ready to be transferred to the airport for your departure.
