What You Can Expect

  • Day 1 Arrive at Beijing
    • Activities

      Welcome to Beijing, the capital of People's republic of China and a city of history and modern vitality. You should take a taxi to the Qianmen Jianguo Hotel Beijing on your own. Make sure to rest up after check-in because the next day is full of activities through to the night. Your guide will call you around 8:00 next morning for departure, so please have the breakfast before that time.

  • Day 2 Beijing
    • Activities

      Have breakfast at the hotel and be ready in your room at 8:00 AM for further instructions from your guide. Then visit the Tian'anmen Square and see the Forbidden City with its elegant palaces, pavilions, and landscaped gardens, once open only to nobility. In the afternoon tour the 700-acre Summer Palace and view the scenery of its lake. The price of a one-way boat is included. After dinner you can opt to enjoy an exciting Kung Fu show at Red Theater.

    • Activities

      Today, ride to the legendary Great Wall of China and stand on its famous ramparts. A local lunch is included, along with a visit to a jade or cloisonné enamel workshop. On the way back, you will stop at Beijing Olympic Green, which hosted the 2008 Olympics - entrance tickets to the venues are not included. Your last stop in Beijing is Nanluogu Xiang, one of Beijing's oldest Hutongs and one of Beijing's 25 cultural and historical protection areas since 1990. Hutong is the perfect place to experience ancient Beijing.

  • Day 4 Beijing, Xian
    • Activities

      In the morning you will experience world-famous China speed by taking high-speed train to Xian. After checking in to your hotel and having lunch, you will Visit Xi’an Museum, a modern, well-organized museum that traces the history of Xi'an from prehistory to Qing dynasty. Next up is the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, an important cultural relic and one of the remaining symbols of ancient Xi’an. Finally, you will spend some time learning Chinese calligraphy. This traditional Chinese art is not only a means of communication, but also a means of expressing a person's inner world in an aesthetic sense.

  • Day 5 Xian
    • Activities

      Take a morning stroll on the Ancient City Wall. The wall is considered the city’s landmark, dividing it into the inner part and the outer part. In the afternoon tour Xian’s archaeological wonder: 8,000 life-sized terracotta warriors and horses buried with Emperor Qin Shi Huang. Each soldier and horse is molded in incredible detail. After a visit to a terracotta workshop, your next stop is the Muslim Quarter, where you can take a walk or try some local snacks. In the evening you can choose to enjoy the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show.

  • Day 6 Xian, Guilin
    • Activities

      Fly to Guilin, a small city in southern China with a beautiful landscape. After arrival visit Reed Flute Cave. There are stalactites, stalagmites, stone curtains, stone columns, and stone flowers that look like scenic pictures, as well as human figures. All in all, there are more than 30 attraction spots. Then, you will visit Elephant Trunk Hill. The limestone that deposited at the sea bottom 360 million years ago formed the rock, and this cave that runs from west through east came into being about 12,000 years ago as the river water washed and dissolved the stone. The rock with the cave looks just like an elephant sucking water with its trunk. Your last stop is Guilin Tea Research Institute, the largest tea-producing center in Guangxi area. This is a spot that combines tea science research, tea growing, tea processing, and tea tasting. Also, a lot of tea farmers from the area learn how to grow high-quality tea here.

  • Day 7 Guilin to Longsheng to Guilin
    • Activities

      Today you will visit the China South Pearl Museum. Considered a symbol of health, longevity and wealth, pearls have been beloved among all people through the history of the world. Then you will drive to Longji Terrace Rice Fields. These fields offer some of the most fantastic scenery in China. The rice terraces are built into the hillsides and look like great chains or ribbons as they wind around the contours in tiered bands. There are quite a few villages where the Zhuang and Yao people inhabit. You will visit one of their villages before transferring back to Guilin.

  • Day 8 Guilin, Yangshuo
    • Activities

      Enjoy Li River Cruising for about 4.5 hours and arrive at Yangshuo, a small lovely town where you will stay overnight. Looking around the narrow but interesting Yangshuo West Street and Moon Hill, the hill offers some broad, panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, which is characterized by the knobby karst hills found throughout the region. An evening option is to enjoy the stunning Impression Liusanjie Show.

  • Day 9 Yangshuo, Shanghai
    • Activities

      Transfer from Yangshuo town to Guilin airport and then fly to Shanghai, China’s most modern metropolis. Optional program is cruising on the Huangpu River to see the enchanting night view of Shanghai.

  • Day 10 Shanghai
    • Activities

      View the Shanghai Museum. Continue to Yuyuan Garden, a 16th-century Ming period private garden/residence in the heart of Shanghai’s old Chinese quarter. This is located alongside the local bazaar and Shanghai Old Street. Visit the former Old French Concession District. Stroll along the Bund and Nanjing Road to experience the thrills of old and modern Shanghai today. Tonight you can watch an optional acrobatics show.
