What You Can Expect
Mutianyu Great Wall
Discover one of the Great Wall of China’s most majestic sections, northeast of Beijing. Dating back to the 6th-Century, and built as a northern barrier to protect the imperial tombs, Mutianyu offers an alternative Great Wall experience compared to the popular Badaling section. The section is older than Badaling and provides a more challenging climb, so you will be offered the chance to take an easy cable car ride to the top. Snaking its way through the Yanshan Mountain, north of Huaiou, it contains interesting features, such as densely packed watchtowers and crenelated parapets. On board the cable car, riding the last hurdle of the Mutianyu section, you can be Chairman Mao's "Plucky Hero" as described in his poetry. Take in the magnificent vista before continuing your journey.
Lunch will be served in the countryside on the way to Mutianyu.
National Stone Place
After Mutianyu, you will visit National Stone Place to learn about China’s most precious stone.
Bird Nest and Water Cube
On the return journey, you will have the chance to visit 2 iconic buildings from the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube.
You will also and pause to enjoy a tea ceremony at Dr. Tea, where you will learn about the rich flavors and health benefits of the many types of Chinese tea.

Great part of the wall, Guide made some inappropriate jokes though.

+ wall: this part of the wall was not too crowded - guide: He made lots of inappropriate, often racist jokes and he wouldn't stop talking even though it was obvious that the whole bus was trying to sleep - hidden extras (jade factory, tea shop): They might have been free but it's no fun when they pester you to buy something you neither want nor need. Besides these extras cost quite a lot of time. The tea we tasted at the tea ceremony was really good though.

Die Führerin war gut, alles war gut organisiert, das Essen war auch gut, aber dass 2 Vekaaufsausstellungen in penetranter Form besucht wurden, war zwar bekannt, aber überflüssig.
